Expects too much from my ENG 22 class, but honestly pushes you to do better (even though it's difficult to get an "A"). She's very nice and helpful, gives amazing feedback when it comes to discussing and brainstorming ideas. It was stressful and challenging. Don't expect to get an A, do the work and don't complain. You'll pass.

Wasted lots of time being in this class. She has a nice personality, but she is a tough grader. Once graded my paper based off of only 2 pages of essay when I wrote about 5-6 pages. Interrupts at every slide when presenting, expects too much from freshman's, lectures about argumentative topics only...

I took her during my freshman year and a lot of students seemed to have dropped out but many of us stayed and pulled through. She's a tough grader, but she's there when you need help and she really will try her best to help you. If you don't try, she won't do much though. So instead of being rude, reach out to her first. She's a cool professor.

Today was the first day of class and I'm already considering of dropping her. She's VERY strict and the amount of work she wants you to put into this class is ridiculous. Basically, if you don't turn in a paper it IS an automatic fail. She will reduce a letter grade to any late assignments or papers if she decides to accept them. Expect pop quizzes

I would not recommend you taking her class unless you are willing to work hard. In the summer session she would talk way too much. There's not enough time to do the class work the first week. The homework is bearable if you follow the calendar. She is very nitpicky on all the assignments you turn in.

Extremely tough grader. I do not recommend taking her ENG 100 class if you are a full time freshman. It is a heavy workload so expect to spend a lot of time reading from the book and writing 4 papers, as well as ridiculous amounts of writing logs. If you are a part time student then it isn't so bad. She focuses a lot on argumentative writing.

Definitely not an easy A & seems difficult for an English 100, but if you're willing to work hard, it's possible. Textbook is mandatory because of the quizzes on the reading articles assigned. Tough grader on required essays, but allows revisions. Overall, it was okay, learned a lot of argumentative writing, just very time consuming.

This class is very hard to keep up with. If you're willing to write a minimum of 4 page essays in a week or less than take this class, and every week or 2 you have new essays to write. REALLY regret taking this class! This class has ruined my other classes because the work here is super intensive. Too much stress coming from this class.

Inconsiderate, very opinionated, and not understanding. DOCTOR! Very knowledgeable, not approachable at all though. If you don't know much, do not even bother asking for help. You will feel stupid, I PROMISE! She expects way too much out of you for a beginner! teaches you how to write the assignment after it's already due. NEVER a TBA teacher again

The amount of work she gives is over-whelming. She wants 43 logs (each a page long) plus the four papers, and a presentation. Which totals about 75 pages of writing for that class alone, if you include drafts and outlines.

You need to read the textbook for quizzes and be prepared for lots of essays! Four essays in total and each essay, the pages increase. I managed to get a B - mostly from the points accumulated from the quizzes and the highest grade I got for an essay was a C. Don't expect to get an A on the first essay, she's also a very tough critique.

Expects A LOT of work. If you are bad at time management then this class will be the death of you. Four essays total that require an increase in length each time. Final essay 8-10 pages. On top of that you have 38 writing logs that document your progress for your final paper. Besides the amount of work she is actually very nice and helpful.

Bright professor, your writing will imporve if you read the handbook and apply it to your work. A tad condescending and at times snarky. Do not miss class- letter deduction for missing "workshops."

Worst English class ever! Homework was too much/tedious. Textbook/essay assignments were uninteresting. Dr. Hirata-Knight is nice/organized. Her assignment are clearly stated, but she does not give enough guidance. Just imagine her class as an AA meeting except for English, but she's trying to do too much and not giving enough support. Its torture!

Is nice, but expects a lot of work. On the 3rd day of class, we had an essay, an outline, and another writing assignment due -- all on different topics! She is a nice person, but don't take her if you're not an English major.
