I highly dislike his teaching style. All he does is teach you his study guides. I do not feel like I learned anything from this class. He literally gives the answers to every question on the exams, but it is so hard to retain because he won't actually explain things, he just blurts answers.

Decent professor of UCR. Very enthusiastic about the subject. He is teaching with well-structured lecture. There are lots of abstract readings to do but his neatly organized study guides and good memorizing skills of yours will save you. But even with study guide, you will need to actually read at least 2 readings for compare&contrast term paper.

Whole class is based off of a study guide. Both Quizzes and Midterms come straight off of the study guide. Answers those questions to get an A! EASY A!

This professor is great. If I could take him again for any other course under my major I would. As long as you study the study guides he provides for you, you will for sure A's the 7 quizzes he gives throughout the quarter. The midterms are incredibly easy as well study the quizzes, memorize the answers, and for sure will pass.

Class is NOT an Easy-A. You do have to work for it. Study guides are essential for doing good on the quizzes. Professor is passionate and a little corky at times. 2 Midterms: Not easy, but not hard either. A CompareContrast Term Paper on 2+ Readings. Have yet to take the final, but it is cumulative. Don't take unless you absolutely have to.

Amazing sociology professor. Basically all you have to do is memorize the study guides and you will get an easy A. he gives you the study guide(which has the exact same questions that are on the test) and you memorize them and take 7 short quizzes. (but he only uses your top 5 scores) he is enthusiastic about his lectures and tells corny jokes.

Dr. Russel is very enthusiastic on his subject. The class was early but attending is helpful for quizzes, tests, and paper. An easy class for an A, load of work is average when it comes toward midterm and final (plus the paper will be due in final). :)

This guy is very energetic! Very enthusiastic about the subject. There are weekly quizzes so attendance is mandatory. a midterm and a final. he gives a study on day one that basically is for the whole course. but he answers question by question each day in lecture so all you have to do is memorize. Easy class, fun professor as well. :)

One of the most energetic professors at UCR. Attendance is required since quizzes are given. One paper, a mid term and & final. Mid term & final consists of quizzes. He is more comfortable in a group setting then one on one. Post study guides online for quizzes and exams. Very organized. Begins with outline of that day's lecture.

Prof Russell has enough energy for 2 instructors! He is not only enjoyable to listen to, he is clear in his expectations & cares about the material. He does not trick you with random questions and he doesn't assign reading that has nothing to do with the exams. There is a fair quantity of material but it all makes sense. I thoroughly recommend him.

Professor Russell is an absolute joy. He cares so much about students grasping the concepts and diligently goes through the material. It's almost unnecessary to read because he gives direct answers during the lectures, but he somehow makes a generally boring topic interesting. He learns students' names and is always willing to answer questions. A+

Questions straight from study guide for exams and quizzes which make up 75% of your grade. He gives out most answers in class but they're also straight out of the book, which can be a bit tough to find. TA's might be helpful depending on who you get, Roy is awesome.

If I paid more attention to those, I could've definitely ace the class! Also, no need to go to class everyday because he requires you to get answers for the study guides from the te
