Comment:

Dr. Wilders was a solid choice for one of the easiest math courses at NCC. He made it easy enough that it's impossible to do awful. The grades in the class are mainly quizzes or exams. He does a great job explaining the material in class & gives out ways to help your grade. He is also available for any questions in or out of class. Very nice guy!

I loved loved Business and Economic Statistics with Wilders. I came into the class anxious and worried about failing I''m not a math wiz but ended up with a B and actually learned the material. He is so helpful and gives you a lot of chances to succeed. I wish I could have him again this year but I don''t have any more math classes left.

This was the hardest class I have ever taken, but Wilders explained everything so even the slowest student could grasp the concepts. I am not a math or science person and had no interest going in (only the requirement). I left with a good grade and a great appreciation of philosophers/scientists/mathematicians and their work due to Dr. Wilders.

I had him for both abstract algebra I and II. His lectures were somewhat helpful, but he went so fast it made it near impossible to grasp anything. Every day was just so bad. If you can avoid having a class with Wilders I would highly advise staying away. I'm sure as a person he's nice but as a professor at least for this class, he's not that good.

The kindest old man I've ever met. full of stories and laughs! He is very patient for those who are not science experts, like myself, and if you seek help he is more than happy to help you. print the power points, i never read the books because he sums it up in power points. class discussions really help too but attendance isn't mandatory.

Great professor! He's my favorite professor at this school. Always cheerful and always making you think about things differently. The class was a little challenging due to the complex theories; however, he breaks them down so that they're easier to understand and remember. Highly recommended!!!

One of the worst professors ever. Of no help with homework, simply does it for you without explaining. Informs you test will up to a certain section, then tests on material that has not been taught or given for hw. Does not give feedback on hw. Makes numerous significant errors and is confused during class. Nice guy, but should have retired.

Great professor! Was really open to helping you, just go by his office. He's really into the history of math so would insert somewhat interesting tidbits in lectures. He has a great sense of humor and his classes were always pretty interesting.

Wilders just cracks me up. I don't like science all that much, but he made it enjoyable and understandable. Landmarks with him was a blast. If you can take it with him, you really should. I tend to miss classes if there is not an absolute need to go, but this is (honestly) one of two classes in my four years that I tried not to miss.
