Great! He was passionate about what he taught which made his classes more interesting. He is funny and grades fair. I have taken several classes with him and I highly recommend him. You don't have to spend extra money on expensive books, which is a plus!

one of the smartest people you will ever meet. you will sit through a lecture all day every class. you NEED to take good notes and go to class because there is no text book. There is very few homework assignments and just a few tests. the tests aren't overly hard and if you were happy with the grade you had, you didn't have to take the final.

Prof. Batt is amazing. He sometimes isnt very clear during lectures and jumps from one topic to the next but his class was amazing! he knows so much about what he talks about. he has such a dry sense of humor you have to listen for it but he is hilarious! i loved him so much im taking another class with him next semester. his last semester :(

He is in no way helpful. Also he is rude and has even in front of my class embarrassed and rudely yelled at another professor because he thought she was taking too long to finish her class before our has started. I thought how he handed it was unprofessional and unnecessary. Would not recommend him as a professor.

Avoid this class if possible.... Lectures are a little under 3 hours. It's once a week. Class is boring and test aren't that bad if you look at your notes regularly and apply the concepts to certain situations. Grade is based on 2 midterms and a final. Text book not needed if you come to class.

Dr. Batt is, without a doubt, one of the smartest people from whom I have ever learned. While his lectures require a great deal of attention on the part of the student, you will learn a lot from this man. If you are truly interested in the subject matter, his lectures paint more vivid pictures in your mind than any cheesy slide. JUST GO TO CLASS.

Very nice guy, but BORING CLASS! all he does is lecture at you, and write his notes on the bored. No power points, just write down everything he says. Exams are okay as long as you study EVERYTHING IN YOUR NOTE BOOK, they are mostly short answer! HE DOES not take attendance. pretty easy, but boring, it always puts me to sleep !!

You have to go to class and listen and take notes or you won't pass. Notes are not online. Interesting topics, but his teaching was hard to grasp because he does more drawing and talking than writing and talking. But not an impossible class. He'll tell you what's on the test. You just need to pay attention and study. Knowledgeable prof.

He's very knowledgeable and passionate about his field. Some of his tests were pretty easy, if you would actually study for them. He only had two assignments, also very easy to do. Just show up for every class and write down EVERYTHING he writes on the board. EVERYTHING! Those notes will become very handy come test time, since he repeats things.

I love him! He is very engaging and if you find geology or dinosaurs interesting it will be very easy to follow him and take notes. There is no textbook and everything is notes. His tests are very easy if you write down what he emphasized and study. I love him a lot! He is a great guy and very funny.

awful! attendance is not mandatory but he does not use the book at all so u have to pay close attention take good notes in every super boring lecture in order to pass the tests. when i asked him for help he just blew me off and when i asked him what to study his response was always everything. way too much work for a gen ed class

Extremely informative class. Attendance isn't mandatory but with no book its all notes, you need to be there. Pretty easy class if you pay attention. Draws great maps and diagrams (+ dinosaurs for fun). The class isn't boring at all, but Dr. Batt's manner of speaking can be repetitive/monotone at times. In spite of this, a really good teacher.

Beware, if you like geology, take this class, if you dont like geology and need to fulfill a requirement, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. If you like to listen to long, boring, did I say boring? then take this class. I wonder how some teachers become "teachers". He knows a lot of information, but doesn't know how to teach it.
