Dr. Roth is a good guy. Very straight forward about what he expects. 2 books required. Lots of discussion about hot topics in class and you should participate. Make sure you follow MLA Format! Turn your assignments in on time. He canceled class 3 times during the semester which didn't bother me. I highly recommend him.

Very funny teacher. Easy to talk to. Canceled class many times due to medical reasons. Had to leave the class to be taught for the remainder of the semester by two other professors. Class got a little confusing then, but an easy A.

Roth is a laid back type of guy. He is very clear of what he expects from students. He will answer any questions about the material. The only draw back is that you have to purchase several poorly written books by a friend of his. It may seem like alot of work, however he requests the writing to be kept to a minimum, so dont get discouraged.

I TOOK HIM WINTER 08 AND HE GUY BARELY SHOWED UP FOR CLASS WHICH IS GREAT. HE WOULD POSTPONE THEASSIGNMENTS.JUST FOLLOW EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS AND YOULL GET AN A. THOSE ESSAY PAPERS WERE ONLY 2 PAGES LONG.I RECOMMEND TO JUST TAKE HIM DURING SUMMER/WINTER OR ELSE FULL SEMESTERS MEAN LONGER ASSIGNMENTS LIKE 7 PGS.HE MOSTLY GRADES ON THE MLS FORMAT

great professor. His lectures are interesting. He does give alot of work but not difficult if you try hard. there are 2 tests on books, 1 book report, 2 Film analysis, I argumentative assigment, a few essay analysis, and a few poem analysis. I got a "B" because I accidentaly missed the date for one assignment, I could have gotten an "A" though.
