Comment:
I love Dr. Friedman! I really don't understand why her rating is so low. The special topics class that I took was Controversies in American Values and was very discussion heavy with 4 papers. The discussions were so engaging and she really let us take the reins and address pop culture news items as they applied. A BIG 5 stars for this class!

I don't understand all of the hate she gets. One of the best professor at UA. Funny as hell. Very inspiring and will be a friend if you need her to be. 4-5 papers. Fair grader. Despite being blind she'll know everyone's name. Paper topics are interesting. Do well on those and you'll get an A.

Professor Friedman is one of the best Professors I have had at UAlbany in the PoliSci Department. It is a lot of work, but she makes the classes fun and interesting, and always makes me laugh. The work is worth it!

Professor Friedman was a solid choice for sure. I had her for two classes and really formed a bond with her as a person and educator. Lecture get boring though, and the readings a little pretentious

Professor Friedman was alright! Had her for two different classes this semester! Her quizzes are the main points of each chapter, or reading. Would always complain about the class sitting so far from one another but never did anything to really enforce

Sweet lady but very hard to understand. The grading is very hard. No textbook but online readings need to be done before every class because of pop reading quizzes. The tests consist of writing 2-3 short essays, short answer, as well as true/false.

Sweet lady but hard to understand since she stumbles over her words a lot and speaks low. She has 3 tests that consist of short answer questions and term definitions, and weekly quizzes that can be taken online. Take advantage of the TA's! They're understanding and will help you pass the class.

I could barely understand her lectures, She was well prepared and I am sure she meant well but I struggled so much with this class since she used too many filler words which made her extremely hard to follow. DO NOT take this class if you are allergic to dogs, she has a guide dog that wanders the room.

Very passionate about the subject matter. Basically if you show up, participate, and read the assignments you will do well. Definitely one of my favorite professors. People who don't do well in her classes are the ones that don't show up to class, sit on their phones the entire lecture, or don't do the reading. Your grade effort put in.

Professor Friedman is by far one of my favorite professors in the poli sci department. In her classes you really do need to be there and you need to participate! She just likes to know that you're understanding the reading. Her lectures may be here and there but if you ask for clarification she helps as much as she can. Highly recommend.

She has 5 thoughts running at the same time and never finishes any of them, it's really frustrating. She's very nice, but should not be teaching. Her lectures are useless because she can't keep her thoughts together. I don't recommend taking the class. Um ok um ok um ok um um um ok. You'll want to tear your hair out.

She was very disorganized and I could not comprehend anything that she was saying. I would never take a class with her ever again. She would talk for a long time about things that are not relevant to what will be on exams or the tests.

Started out as a good professor but quickly became disorganised and difficult to follow. Would completely ignore students opinions she didn't agree with and was terrible at explaining work. Grading varied from paper to paper. Difficult to follow in class. Nice enough person, but an awful teacher. 8 out of 10 would not recommend

Really enjoyed her class. You could tell that she was passionate about the material and enjoyed sharing unbiased knowledge. I wrote a strictly conservative paper which i knew she would thoroughly disagree with and she still gave me an A+. Debates in class were also very interesting. I will definitely take her again. There is a lot of reading.

A nice lady, in general. Gipped me out of a mention in her research paper, and a fellow researcher admitted that I did a lot of work and should have been mentioned. Disorganized and incoherent. Sincerely, there are better professors for statistics and methodology. If you actually want to use stats to do research, I recommend another prof.
