Comment:
No clear grading criteria. Makes you do a total of 10 weekly summaries and 10 written questions to be submit in class but does not count towards your grade. 3 papers and 2 exams. If you fail an exam and do decent on the papers, the highest you can get is a C. Lectures is what you need for your papers and exams so must attend everyday.

Professor is good overall. You do have to buy books that you will read. If you just put your effort into it you'll be fine. There was no final just 4 papers due in total but like I said not so tough. He does go in-depth into the readings so sometimes it does make you think and weekly summaries on readings. Still not so bad. I would recommend.

Professor Fleischacker was an excellent professor. Though the reading are dense he would explain them, so they were easy to understand. The lectures were very interesting and you can tell he is very knowledgeable on the topic. As long as you wrote down what he said during the lecture, the essays were easy as was the final.

This was the easiest class yet the stupidest. There was no real grading criteria. The TA checks and grades the paper, And they don't want your thoughts they want what is right. You don't get any points or anything just a grade. This class was ridiculous. No point at all. I worked so hard and got a C. I atleast expected B. Should've been an A

3 Papers throughout the semester that act as exam grades. Weekly summaries and weekly in-class questions are used as a supplement. Not a hard class. He's really engaging and promotes questions and deep thought processes.

Course material is difficult, but Prof F is one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. He's extremely intelligent and knows what he's teaching. He quite often uses the socratic method and challenges students to think critically about the material. I would certainly take another course with him. Grading is rough, but philosophy is not easy.

Engaging, interesting, articulate and a charismatic teacher. If you're in college to learn then take a course offered by him. Breaks down tough material and is quite witty! His academic honesty is something to be respected. Always willing to go over material during office hours.

One of my favorite professors of all time (and I'm a senior, so I went through many of them)! The nicest guy ever, so reasonable with grading and attendance...I seriously cannot find a negative thing to say about this man. If you have a chance to take his class, you will not regret it, I assure you.

Class stayed fresh with different topics every few weeks. Professor was very interested to take students philosophical views, and was incredibly understanding. Attendance was pretty much mandatory, but it helped when writing the paper which was the majority of the grade. I'd recommend this prof to others.

THE BEST professor for a class on Religion and Philosophy. His interpretation of the assigned readings is clear and concise. Take lots of notes! It will help with the papers. Remember, he teaches from the perspective of the philosophers covered in the course. He may argue on behalf of them sometimes to help you better understand their thinking.

One of the worst classes Ive ever taken in my life! Not only was the teacher arrogant and incapable of thinking from a perspective outside of his own,he was downright an ass to his students and only had one way of teaching each subject. If you didnt understand his interpretation, you were screwed because he was incapable of explaining it another way.

very subjective and inconsistent. seems like he cannot understand people who doesn't agree with him. if you share the same ideas you'll be fine, if you disagree w/ him just run away. or you'll get an unfair grade.
