Really confusing professor! If you are looking for a teacher who will help you to understand easily, then do not take him. Takes the simplest concepts and makes really hard. I dropped the class after second test. He gives a lot of proves with signs and symbols on tests. Just avoid to take him!

Do not repeat my mistake, do not take him. After spending 2 weeks I dropped the class. His lectures are meaningless. For preparation for the test you should learn his more than 400 page handouts solved by him. Any other solution will not pe accepted, even if it is right.

Believe me or not, this is the worst professor in the world. First time I took math class at Valley college and was truly surprised. Although professor is unknowledgeable, also is very tough grader. This is first time in my experience that half of class dropped it before the first test. Avoid to take a math class with this professor.

I dont know who let him to teach Math270. He doesnt know the material, forces us to learn his 125 page (or more) homework with the stupid notation. He hasnt method to teach. I think he has to change the way of teaching ang grading criteria.

Amazed to see a rating higher than 2. Wasted the first two days of winter Linear, discussing Ring and Set theory, filled with formal logic notation, already assigning proofs, carelessly unaware of the class's total confusion. Dropped this for another Linear class, guess what we were learning? Basic matrix operations, like a NORMAL class. AVOID!!

I like a lot of students, walked out of class after only 2 sessions with this "teacher". I use quotes around teacher because while he stood in front of the class he starred at the floor while hardly explaining the subject matter he wrote on the board. He spent days covering things that are not relevant to the class. Do yourself a favor stay away!

Took him for Stats over the summer. For the most part his lectures were dull/dragging on and a lot of the material wasn't really relevant. However, exams were very fair and unlike other professors, practice exams were identical to actual exams, zero curveball questions and you will pass if you put in work in the class. Generous professor imo.

He really wants you to succeed, allowing you to retake exams & uses the best grade. His willingness to work with me ensured that I passed with an A. The online portion can do a lot to boost your grade. Open the tutorials and rack up those minutes! If you put in the work and show him, he will work with you to ensure you pass. Excellent professor!

He is such an amazing teacher. He is very understanding, kind, and truly tries to teach you the material. He gives out a lot of extra credit and allows extensions. Attendance is very important because everything he teaches in class is on the exams. He is the best teacher i have ever had. And i really recommend him for any math class.

He is a very good professor; very patient. He never looked annoyed or mad when students had questions or when asked to repeat a certain part of the lecture if the student didn't understand it. (which is something a lot of teaches have done in my past math classes experience). He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities so its very helpful.

I would definitely recommend Professor Castillo to anyone, he never give attitude to anyone when asking a question, he is very professional and understanding. He gives a lot of extra credit work and a super nice person. his class requires a lot of homework but allows a chance to retake a test if you do bad. I definitely recommend.

LECTURES Prof. Castillo is what you call, a National Treasure for the College Community. There has been few that define the quintessential meaning of "teacher." His aptitude for teaching is nothing short of a transcendental gift from a higher dimension. The lectures are clear, succinct, enlightening, and complete. He invokes the evolution of a geni

He is a good professor and has a lot of patience! There was this lady in my class who would never understand anything and he would always go over things with her even tho she would get hostile. There is a pretty good amount of hw online but if you ask him he extends the deadline for you. He allows you to retake test but your scores depend on ur hw.

I took professor Castillo for two semesters in a raw, first one I passed easily with an A. Second one was the combination , I would say it was difficult, enormous work load, but if you the power of three: Perseverance, Persistence and Patience you can do it. Also , he will answer all your questions, with great patience.

He is horrible person. He acts like he is nice and helpful but he is not. He is fake. Don't trust him at all. Always late from class and doesn't even care if you go to class or not. He doesn't lecture at all or do examples on the board. You have to do your own research in order to study. Wont recommend this professor at all.

He has good methods of instruction if he has enough time and does not fall behind. If he does fall behind, he will make you write his lecture notes as HW and skip the sections, but this is not something that he would do every week nor day. Get ready for HW and he uses every single minute he has in class, so if you get overwhelmed easily consider it
