Professor Zurbrigg is a classic art professor with a stale sense of humor but excellent feedback and class structure. She's a little quirky, but her class is geared to allow for individuality and expression and she really supports this. Always open to new ideas, is honest, critical, and helpful. I have no clue what my grade is right now, but she never really seems butthurt if you disregard her advice: I put an extreme amount of time into this class and she really appreciates that. I think she avoids telling you how to do things because she wants you to develop and learn in your own way- she doesn't want to manufacture us (like Saunders)

AMAZING CLASS! Zurbrigg is very helpful and truly cares about each student growing as an artist and individual. Forget about grades, this class is about you and your art. Zurbrigg KNOWS her stuff and is extremely knowledgeable,no matter what your style is. She is all about new ideas and exploration. TAKE HER CLASS! :)

Susan is a great professor. The truth is that you get as much out of the class that you put into it. People who say she isn't helpful or knowledgeable have never put forth the effort and extra time that Susan really appreciates (and notices!). If you put a lot of thought into your preliminaries and take attendance seriously, you'll be fine :)

I took her for drawing II. She was great about giving us prompts but being open to different interpretations of them. She was friendly and offered constructive criticism. I know my style was very different than hers but I don't think it affected her critiques.

totally enjoyed her painting class! she will share her op/advice with you - was open to personal ideas & suggestions. totally enjoys painting and if you enjoy it & show interest she'll appreciate that + your work. *suggestion- work on more than one painting at a time and let her know that*

Seems pretty nice. We're kept in the dark about our grade for almost the entire semester though. She is definitely out there, but is really friendly and DOES want to help you. If you put time into the class, she'll put time into helping you: keep that in mind.

"yeah yeah yeah, right right right" is what you'll hear as you're trying to explain yourself. doesn't really help or listen to you, but she's nice and the class is easy. she's also more of a non-objective fan. i suggest another professor if you want more helpful critique (if your style is more realistic). if you want an easy grade, take her.

teaches you absolutely nothing about color theory, mixing colors, and the basics of painting...take her if you already know this stuff and just want to paint, otherwise don't. I learned absolutely nothing from her.

I had her for Painting and then took her again for Figure Drawing. She is opinionated, and can be a little bit difficult to ajust to...but once you get used to her she is awesome. Is very open to all different styles, and will let you have lots of freedom
