Her wit and dry humor were refreshing. The class was not difficult--you just had to study and be sure to attend. I'd recommend her--just not to those students who complain about their classes. It's a 100 level class--put the work in and you'll do great. It was actually pretty interesting material, too.

If you study your notes, go to the review sessions, and go to ALL the rock and mineral labs/review sessions, you should get a good grade in this class. Her outlines almost identically follow the exam; the hard part is her wording sometimes- you have to read the WHOLE question just not the first few words.

Dr. Mensing is one of my favorite Professors. She is very organized and really knows her stuff. The class isn't hard but does take some studying to get an A. She drops your lowest exam and they are all multip. choice except the lab. Only down fall is you only have exams so if you're not good at taking test it may be a little harder for you.

Very hard class..probably the worst class I have ever taken. Too much is expected for the class. Lots of memorization..very boring and tedious. BEWARE!

Dr. Mensing is a great teacher. She lays out the entire course and gives you study guides and is VERY helpful. You did have to study, but the lectures were the only material covered in tests (and those are online on powerpt.)
