Comment:

Tends to get off topic from time to time and talks too much about politics. My writing has been decent over the years but ever since I started his class it seems as if every time I wrote about something opposing his argument, I've gotten a bad grade on his papers.

He is super boring and drags the class on for as long as possible. He is not too clear on the essays you need to write, and it is all based on fiction you will read. He does not give you a set topic and let's you decide. He is nice, but I probably would not take him again. I recommend Brian Underwood instead.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking him for English Comp I. So much so that I'm taking him for Comp II. He's very helpful and always happy to meet outside of class to answer questions or give feedback on your work. It is an English class so the lectures aren't anything amazing, but he's funny and makes it less painful. Definitely recommend him.

Mr. Botsford is mainly a journalism teacher, so he likes to incorporate a lot into his English comp class. He grades very fairly and is always there if you have questions and concerns. he genuinely cares for every student and takes his job very seriously.

Thom Botsford taught me everything I needed to know about Associated Press style, so that I was fully prepared to work at a city newspaper. I am so grateful for his high standards, and for the education and experience I got at the Corsair student paper!

Mr. Botsford is an outstanding teacher -- the best I've ever had. He cares about his students, and wants them to learn. He is always willing to help. He grades fairly and honestly. He's very encouraging. He knows journalism. I have learned so much in his class, and couldn't have dreamed up a better instructor.

Thom is a decent teacher and a decent journalist, but he can be unfair. I learned a lot from him, but when other things came up and I couldn't produce exactly what he wanted in his class, he got very iffy and graded me extremely harshly for not doing EXACTLY what he said.
