He is one of my favorite professors. I took the adv Comp class to be a Writing Fellow. It was difficult, but worth it. It's a responsibility, and he prepares students to know their stuff to succeed and help other students. The lectures were really interesting to me, and he is clearly really intelligent. Help was gladly given! I loved the research!

I don't want to sound like many students do when complaining about a teacher, but I highly recommend you don't take this professor. While, yes, he is willing to help, he is absolutely condescending while doing so. He feels exceptionally unapproachable and I did not feel comfortable in the class. You should be prepared for high expectations.

Absolutely love how engaged he is with students. Very time consuming work and difficult class, but I've never learned so much. Definitely recommend if you are a dedicated student.

This is an invite only, honors class. So it is funny to see that the people who rate him poorly are people who didn't make it through the class or didn't last as writing fellows. I was a fellow for nearly 4 years. Yes, he is tough, but he gives you the tools you need to excel as a writer. And if you actually ask for help, he gives it generously.

English is my best subject. I have always received an A in previous English classes. Professor Dillon's expectations are ridiculously too high. He is extremely picky about everything. He deducted 20 points from my rough draft paper for the margins being off by a few inches when the rest of my paper was perfect.

Professor Dillon is extremely knowledgeable. He expects a lot from his students, and rewards those that put forth an effort. I learned a lot from him.

This man knows his writing process. He is the head of writing fellows, he takes this research paper business SERIOUSLY! If you're majoring in accounting like I am, find a different teacher. If you will need to write papers in your future you NEED him. His class is HARD HARD HARD but you will learn. A lot of requirements were things I didn't need

Confusing, he will assign a topic then before its completed already have discussed the next 2 projects. You will have to cite 40 sources before you begin your paper then your paper you only need 10. One of the worst teachers I had.

Tough grader. I don't like english, but I did get a B- in his class. His class is boring (eng usually is?) He did tell personal and non persona tid-bits that were interesting. Papers were straight forward and easy. You know what he wants, straight forward guy. 5-9 paragrah papers a handful of homework, easy class.

When I first began his Advanced Composition class it was relatively easy to understand and seemed like it would be a challenge, but nothing too ridiculous. Do not ignore the "Advanced" part of this course. The requirements for the research paper are absolutely ludicrous. Hes also monotone and a bit arrogant. The class is not worth it.

He is an awful teacher. For the required research project (>10pages), he had ridiculous requirements that were unnecessary. In the end of the project (Which took about 8 weeks), I don't think all of the work was worth it. Then we had to read a book and write another paper. The research project was crazy extensive. It'll take up ALL of your time.

He teaches the only advanced course at MCCC- Advanced Comp, so I had to take his class. It was also necessary in order to become a Writing Fellow. I couldn't stand his arrogance, so quite the Fellows after the first year. You will hear the following words multiple times "MCCC is the Harvard of community colleges." If that makes him feel good, ok!

tim's not arrogant, he's not scary, and he has a wonderful sense of humor. his class will make a person sweat, especially after the first half of the semester, but it's all so worth it. ditch the preconceptions about his character available on this site and others. and remember: why say "utilize" when you can say "use?"

He is arrogant and self righteous. You will learn a lot but, he feeds off intimidation so you have 2 choices 1. Let him and try to brown nose or 2. Do your work, be respectful, and do not let him.
