I took ChemI online, and it required too much time. You don't need the book, but you have to watch about an hour and a half of PowerPoints online each week. The tests are done in the testing center, and they are HARD. The only teacher worse than him is Dr. Dixon.

Ok, lets be honest, if you are taking Org. Chem you know this class is not easy. Mr. Grow is a good teacher (Period). He is hard but very fair. He is going to teach you as much as he and you can take. He gives you tons of opportunities to have a good grade and succed in his class. TAKE NOTES, GO TO HIS WEBSITE, and DO WHAT HE SAYS & you'll do fine.

Gives his students his all, and expects them to reciprocate. Fair to his students. I learned a lot about Organic Chemistry, but I had to work hard for my grades in both lab and lecture. Expect to study. A lot!

Dr. Grow is a serious professor. He knows that you have to work hard at chem to really get a grip on it and is willing to help you get that grip. You just have to do the work and STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! He will bump up your grade if it is right on the cusp if you visit his office hours and ask serious questions regularly.

Things have changed. Grow has changed. He is nothing like what the previous posters have said. Grow does make himself available for help, however he is so impersonal that he seems to be annoyed when you ask a question. He is impatient, as well, and will yell at you if he thinks you're asking a stupid question. I do not recommend.

This is class is difficult no matter who teaches it, but he makes it as easy as he can, which is still hard. he is the MOST helpful teacher i have ever taken and he gives everyone a fighting chance to pass from extra credit to outside help. you MUST study or else you are wasting your time. go to the organic study room at least once a week.

I've had Grow from General Chem 2 through Organic Chem 2. Organic Chem is VERY hard. Take notes, do the practice problems, and scan the chapters. Grow will answer any questions you have. He's helpful and funny, but he's not going to spoon-feed you.

This is a very hard class, not for the one's that dont want to study hard and long. Requires at least 12 hours of studying outside of class and he gives quizzes every friday. Nice guy, easy to talk to and is very helpful, you'll learn a hell of alot.
