Great professor, extremely organized. Exam formats are similar in all his classes so you know what to expect, which is to expect the unexpected. Ultra liberal and will impose his views during lectures; if you can get past that you will really enjoy his class.

Took his American History Survey class when I was an exchange student at Sewanee - one of the best professors I have ever had. Requires lots of reading for class discussions and other tasks, but it is worth the effort - a truly inspirational professor that makes history come to life

The Wood Man is an absolute stud. Great teacher who brings out the best in his students. Although very liberal in his philosphy one still comes out of his history class with a different way of thinking about the world- which is good.
