Barclay genuinely cares how you do, but you also have to show him that you care, as well. Pretty lecture heavy in his AH classes, but is a lot of fun in the other design classes he teaches.

What a wonderful man. He is funny, kind, really cares about his students. He can be a tough grader in his art classes, but he is just the nicest guy. He always comes equipped with interesting stories, and he's an extremely good artist with a lot to give. He isn't arrogant at all, and if you get to know him he's a real joy to work with.

I like Barclay. He has his own quirks and people can interpret them how they wish. I see that several people consider him arrogant, and know peers who dislike them. He grades according to his rubric and always give students a chance to improve. Those that don't like him generally tend to be lazy students who dislike drawing. Kind of supid of them.

He expects a lot out of his students whether they are intermediate artists or better. He reeked arrogance the first time I saw him judging him by his Bow Tie and sweater vests, but under that there is a passionate professor who does care about how you do and is understanding and helpful.
