He cares about his subject and his students. Took me from fearing algebra to finally understanding it. The workbook is the most useful and he uses helpful tricks to teach algebra. Professor Etgen is a great teacher and a great person. He is always willing to stop and teach something not understood, and will never leave you behind. There is a lot of homework, but it is structured perfectly with the workbook and is really helpful if you end up doing it.

Professor Etgen makes me like math. He is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. All you have to do is show up and pay attention. He cares about his students. His lectures are clear. The exams are exactly whats on the study guide. Highly recommend him for math120!

Really nice guy. Always willing to help. Not real organized when it came to the online homework. Gave out an extreme amount of homework. Class was very repetitous, same thing every day.... got boring quick.

I have taken 2 courses with Ben. i first took his Geometry class and at first i was afraid. i hate math, but Ben made it fun and enjoyable. he is very goofy but thats what helped me relax. i next took his 120 class and while it was tough, he helped me pull through. great person, fun professor take him if math is not your thing.

This is the coolest professor Ive ever had. He is so good at explaining math. If you are the type of person that doesnt like math hes the best teacher that will make high level math seem so simple. Also, you will never go into a exam without indication of what its going to be like. He prepares you well before each exam.

Awesome!! I think all my classmates and myself became his biggest fans. His comments are constantly encouraging, informative, kind, and everything I would ever want in a teacher. He gets you excited about math and your own intellectual abilities, and he's in the background rooting for you the whole way through.

I would definitely take his class again. Always willing to help his students succeed. His willing to adjust the homework assignment and provides extra credits. Always helping and goes over material clearly and well organized. Yes, theirs a lot of work and he has his own teaching style but he makes it worth coming to class. great professor.

Professor Etgen is one of my favorite professors! I believed that I wouldnt of passed math 100 without him. He really cares about each of his students I highly recommend you take his class because he makes you feel comfortable. He is very patient and explains lectures clearly. An amazing professor, makes learning fun, lets you bring in notes during tests depending on how much homework you've finished, and if you don't understand the material, he will try other ways to help you understand. He also has mathematical documentary videos that you can watch and it will count as credit in the class. He wrote his own math book!

Benjamin is an exceptional college teacher, I have taken him for 110 and 120 this semester. His lectures and math problem demonstrations are clear and precise, he truly wants you to be able to understand the concept and logics of the problem.
