Knew him when he was just a young pup wowing the crowds in the great white north, just this side of Gulp Hogus. Not taking the class, yet if I did I would rap with him after class about Destroyers. Cool laid-back guy, and just a little bit too smart. What else can you say? He rocks! Take his class, do the work, don't be a jerk, and all will be OK.

Discussion based class so it's super easy AND interesting. No sit-in exams, only a few papers and take home review sheets for the midterm and final. All you have to do is read the 2-3 short essays for the week, do a quick journal entry, have a brain, and show up for class. Participation helps, but it'll come naturally. He's really cool and laidback

Bill Phillips was wonderful. Sounds like the previous comments are about a completely different professor. He is SO sweet and really makes the material interesting. If you go to class, do your work, you will get a good grade. My favorite class at NYU so far.

talks about politics WAY too much when it is completely irrelevant to course material. lectures are boring and do not facilitate class discussion. if you disagree with him he dismisses your comment and continues making his own point. not my favorite class..

I'm pretty sure Bill is logging on and writing nice things about himself bc he gives bad grades for no reason and isnt that nice, very condescending. In a class of 20 kids that I was in, nobody liked him. His class was extremely boring too, and easy concepts were complicated beyond necessary for an intro to media studies class.
