Professor Gottlieb really cares about mathematics and his students. He is so enthusiastic and you can really tell he loves what he does and wants everyone to love it too. I'm not a huge fan of math but I enjoyed the class. Definitely would recommend taking him. Lots of online homework but helps for the tests.

He honestly is a great professor! He is very passionate about math in general and is very clear on what he expects from his students. He emphasizes things in lecture that WILL show up on the tests, so pay attention!! He gives a lot of homework but if you keep up with the homework and ask questions when you dont understand, you will pass.

He loves what he teaches and gets excited about the material. Go to class! and try to review your notes every week or so. He really makes an effort to be available, so go to office hours, but he is also the dept head so sometimes you have to ask if his office hours are at their normal time.

I only took this class for an F-credit. By the end of the class I was genuinely enjoying the work I was being taught. I have never in my past three years ever worked with a more helpful, genuine and passionate professor. PHENOMENAL at what he does. His positivity and love for the class is forcibly contagious!

Dr. Gottlieb is a great teacher who loves his subject, but expects a lot out of his students. If you take his class, don't just prepare for tests using the easy problems in the book, because he loves to challenge students on his tests.

Professor Gottlieb really cares about his students. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches, and tries to instill that same passion in his students. While he is not an easy teacher, he will definitely make sure you understand what he teaches and cares that you retain the information, not just spit it out on the exam. I highly recommend him!

Very helpful, willing to help you whenever. I frequently went to his office hours, and he was more than happy to help. He does go into tangents about other topics in math that aren't necessarily important in math. Sometimes can be nit-picky on his grading, but the tests are not impossible. Some questions on the test are quite difficult though.

Gottlieb is a highly intelligent guy. This becomes tricky because he'll go off on tangents about higher level math, but don't worry, it won't be on the test! The tests are similar to the homework. He's a great guy!

His class was the hardest I've ever, same for his tests and exams. Do not take this class if you aren't a math person. Be careful even if you do like math. This class is hard.

Do not listen to these other comments with smiley yellow faces...I'm telling you straight up that Gottlieb is a horrible professor for social science majors...if you are like me (sociology major) and can't stand math/science things then Gottlieb's class will be your worst nightmare...

If you don't mind him emailing assignments way later than he says he will, or getting 3 assignments two nights before a test, go for it. Otherwise, steer clear.

Hard. He's willing to go reexplain things you don't understand during class. However, he often gives hw probs that are weird and different from what he teaches in class. Those happen to be the ones to show up on quizzes and tests. Pretty much every time. So, make sure you know how to do EVERY one of the 40 or so hw problems he assigns.

Probably the easiest class this social science major had the entire semester. Just do the homework and make sure you understand it. Unless you are severely math challenged, you should be fine.

this class is commonly known as the "widow maker" among english majors. don't, repeat, DO NOT take this class expecting it to be a basic intro to math class, or you will be taken apart by dr. gottlieb's evil game theory final. the game theory stuff is just plain brutal and the rest of the class isn't much better... if in 107, brace yourself.
