Instead of just chucking equations at you, and expecting you to plug-n-chug through problems, he actually explains them in a way that you can visualize what youre doing and obtain an actual understanding of the matter at hand. I know people hate on him, but I would say that he ranks as one of the best professors at Pitt.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! Avoid at all costs! He doesn't have a courseweb nor does he answer emails. He doesn't really care about how you do in his class. It is heavily curved because if it wasn't then everyone would fail. Just don't do it to yourself please.

Just awful. Do anything to avoid him. He does not have a courseweb nor does he provide you any material (review, notes, etc) that other students have with other professors. Just do not take him

I didn't know this was my teacher till the first day. Didn't drop but should've. He doesn't answer your questions and if you go to him after class, he talks down to you and doesnt help you. The first exam had such a high curve that what would regularly be a D became an A. And he says that this is a good thing?! smh just don't do it, I'm begging you

Not a great teacher and I had to learn a lot of the material on my own. Focuses too much on theoretical stuff and less on the basics of the problems. Kinda funny though and not a horrible guy. Tests can be very difficult so prepare yourself very well.

I got a C+ on one test, an A- on the second test, straight 100% on quizzes and hw (bc I had an AMAZING TA), but didn't do so hot on the final. He gave me a C despite having excelled in literally everything else. I wrote him a very nice email asking for a curve and he said no. Now, I'm about to lose my academic scholarship because of him.

avoid at all costs. lectures left me feeling confused, and he never answered my emails and never told us when his office hours were. he did not coordinate with the TA at all, but she was the only reason i passed the class. i learned more in recitations than i did in the lecture.

Professor constantine ruined math for me. His class is unacceptably difficult for a simple calc 1 class, and he doesn't give partial credit so passing his tests is nearly impossible. The two tests we had this semester averaged 59 and 62 and there is no curve. Stay away from his class because it doesn't matter how good you are at math, you'll fail

Professor Constantine takes very simple concepts and explains them in complex mathematical terms, far above his students' level. He often goes on benders about the history of mathematics and fails to actually teach his students how to do the problems.

He was not a good professor at all. His exams are all open-ended, which is reasonable, but he does not give partial credit. The average for our first exam was a 59%. Even if you go to lecture, he are so confusing and he explains certain things in such a complex way that is really not necessary.I loved calc in high school, now I hate it.

Terrible. If you have never seen calculus before taking Constantine for calc I is a mistake. He doesn't know how to communicate the material in an at all understandable way and gives very little partial credit. He usually teaches Calc III and he thinks the material is beneath him. Seriously, if he's your only option, wait until the next semester.

Professor Constantine love for math shows through his lectures, although his teaching is not always organized. He often would go on tangents and ultimately end up confusing the whole class. His tests consisted of 5 difficult problems, and he barely gave partial credit. Not hard material whatsoever, but a difficult professor and hard to do well.

Doesn't coordinate with the TA at all. What he teaches looks different then the homework, looks different from the recitation, and will be different on the tests. He heavily emphasizes a portion material so that you'll think it's on the test, but the tests turn out to be on advanced versions of lesser covered lessons. Pick a better teacher.

Worst teacher I've had. Lectures are completely unclear, and present the vague concepts of each lesson without giving many, if any, examples. Often times he attempted to do problems from the book but failed. Doesn't explain what will be on each test well. Test questions were more difficult than HW or examples (the opposite if how it should be).

This was a relatively difficult class, made simpler by Professor Constantine's lectures. While the lectures were disorganized at times, they were consistently interesting and I am glad I went. The tests were very routine problems that you could find from the book, so there are no surprises there. I would definitely recommend him.
