Best programming teacher I've ever had. He knows his stuff and explains it in a way that you can understand. He doesn't focus on syntax as much as logic and algorithms the farther in the course you get (he teaches the basicsl at the beginning). If you need help, he will, though he can get impatient. Funny, though. Uses pictures. Skip, you wont pass

If I were you, I would run from him. He is no help and has arrogant attitude. His lectures are confusing and if you do not know anything about programming you will fail. Test are extremely difficult, expects more from his students. His assignments are also tough. Good Luck if you will take one of his class!

Extremely smart and humble lecture. Years of experience in his field in both teaching and the industry, so he absolutely knows what he is talking about. Honest, reasonable kind of guy that expects you to do well and expects the quality of work he would see in the industry. Wish all my professors were as good as he is!

Not thrilled, he gives no feedback which is extremely frustrating. I would like some in depth explanation, and even though he has office hours he gets very impatient with too many questions. He prides himself on his ability to be extremely offensive on demand.

Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. The course does require a decent amount of work, especially if new to programming, but he offers an excellent approach to solving the problem. I'd also recommend showing up to class every time because he goes over the projects, or rather the mindset you should be in to solve the problem at hand.

Best computer science teacher I have had at UWF so far. The intro programming class I took was pretty easy, but I've heard that his other classes are much harder. He was extremely helpful and clear. Definitely enjoyed having him as a teacher, would highly recommend!

He's extremely helpful and his grading is pretty fair. He also goes through the code he gives you line by line so you can understand how it all fits together. I used to be a total programming n00b and now writing code feels completely natural.

I have had him for many classes. He is a good professor. His projects are easy if you pay attention in lecture. Aside from the fact that a TA graded them, I had fun. His tests come straight from his lectures and as long as you dont write too much in a short answer, you'll get it. He is very clear in his presentations and always has a story to tell.

He's a nice guy and is always willing to help you. You have about 7 projects (one every 2 weeks) and 2 mid-terms and the final. I feel bad because I am HORRIBLE at programming and I didn't do too well. I thought it was a hard class.. (>_<)

First of all he looks like billy bob thorton which is funny. Second he's a great professor. If the class weren't so early I'd go every day. by far my favorite class of the semester. do the programs, do some extra programs to study for the exam and you'll do great. the book helps a lot. pretty easy read.

Lewis is one of the best cs teachers, if not the best. Programs can be tough, but if you go to class he will provide you will material to do them. Great teaching style, likable & personable, and offers plenty of ways to get help. He's funny too and lecture is relatively enjoyable! If you can get him, DO IT!
