Lectures are really boring and more than half of the class doesn't attend them. The assignment that we're supposed to do on Excel have lots of errors and it's really frustrating when following the instructions and they don't work. In lectures it seems like he learns as he goes. Attend the lectures if you want to do hw from other classes.

He does everything right but his lectures are pretty dry. He uses Canvas and has everything well-organized on it, posts assignments regularly so you get feedback, multiple choice and open-book tests.

His class was normal. I don't really know why the complaints. His tests are multiple choice, so unforgiving I guess. He also records his lectures. Just study do the hw in a timely manner, should pass. He also curves.

Worst Professor ever. keeps on speaking some random s.h.i.t without focusing on crux points. Keeps mentioning about his book (worst book ever). The only person who like his book is the writer(don't know how he became one!!).

He is not helpful at all and gets frustrated if you ask questions. The suggested book is written by him and has lots of errors. The difference between course content and the project was vast.

This is not a pleasant course, nor is the professor. You need guidance for the course and He's not helpful at all. There's not a single student that have taken a course with him and would like to take him again. Avoid this prof. by any means necessary.

This is a very tough, but rewarding course. I'm earning an IS masters to improve my skillset in my marketing analyst role. I never knew SQL and only had "some" involvement with DB Dev. at my company. That made this class difficult, but now I am miles ahead of non-technical analysts at my company in terms of seeing how an analysis works end-to-end

The professor can't be less adamant about students' success. The course emphasizes Access rather than Oracle, and the inconsistencies and errors contained in the textbook (authored by him) are quite fatal.

Good professor, his courses are difficult but so is the subject matter. If you apply yourself you will be much better equipped for a job than many other business/IS classes. I knew almost nothing before I took his class but can conceptualize important database concepts now.

Worse professor I have ever had in my entire educational history. I was looking forward to this class more than any other elective. Professor would rather see students fail than succeed. The only way you will do well in the class is if you are already a web developer which defeats the purpose.

This is not an easy class, especially if you come in with minimal DB experience. That said, if you get through it you absolutely will come out with some fairly advanced skills. He's very fair with grading and the turnaround time on assgnmnt grading is FAST. Assignments are well structured. Definitely a high value class if you put in the effort.

While clearly and intelligent person, Mannino is unable to adequately address the needs of the student, probably due to his low level involvement in the material. He is extremely detail oriented, a good trait in database, but without good explanation.

Very unhelpful especially for an online class where material is hard to absorb. When some people in class cheat, the situation should be dealt with accordingly and not taken out on the rest of the students who actually DO their own work. Miserable
