Professor Cooper is an awesome guy and really great teacher. I took Digital Media, Intro to film appreciation, and history/criticism with him and they were all super easy and fun. He lectures the whole time, but allows you to use the lectures on your tests . Attendance nor the book were mandatory.

Lectures were short and to the point. The quizzes and tests were short answer, and almost all were online. Two papers were open-ended assignments that he graded easily. He uploads the power points from his lecture to Canvas, so attendance isn't mandatory.

You literally don't even need to show up to this class to pass. He also tells you to buy the book but you don't need it at all. The only grades are the midterm, final, and a paper on film adaptations. You can basically just show up for the lecture days and watch the movies on your own. Really easy gen ed.

The assignments are pretty easy if you actually try to learn the program (Final Cut Pro X). The class is much easier if you have the program on your personal computer, though. No textbook. He's hilarious and you can do really well without showing up except to turn in assignments.

Editing with Cooper is a beyond easy class. His assignments are pretty open ended to allow for creativity. However he offers little feedback. Attendance is optional and you can edit outside the class so you only need to show up on due dates.

He's a great prof and a great guy. Get to know him if you're a film student! For editing class, he respects if you show your face, but it's never mandatory to show. Incredibly easy grader, but doesn't give you feedback or grades until last minute.

Don't be frightened by the people who say that CTAT 145 is hard, just don't expect it to be a blow off. If you show up and pay attention, maybe read the book if you don't have much prior knowledge of film, then you will be more than fine! Just don't take it if you think all it is is watching films, a little bit of analysis is necessary.

I have had Coop for this class, and about three others so far. I will continue taking any class he teaches! He is awesome and reminds me of Larry David (looks and personality)! Which is even more awesome because he will refer to Seinfeld from time to time and actually show episodes in most of his classes. He is very intelligent & a great professor.

This guy is one of the best teachers at EMU. He is very knowledgeable and is more concerned about teaching you than making you stressed about your grade. The tests are hard, but you'll be fine as long as you do what he tells you to.

Professor Cooper rocks. Just show up for class on time and watch movies.. (good hangover class.. just don't fall asleep). His exams are easy (provided you study), just study the hand outs and read some of the textbook pages and you'll get an A for sure. He loves his subject and is extremely knowledgeable. Great art gen ed class.

Prof. Cooper is awesome. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he is smart, so he know who is and isn't there. He loves his job and makes his exams idiot proof as to what to study. Take him for gen ed art credit. He's awesome!

Cooper is by far one of the more interesting professors you'll have. If you're at all interested in this subject take him and participate in class because he knows that he's talking about and is willing to help if you speak up.

Prof. Cooper is a good professor! He teaches with humor and makes this class interesting. However his tests are over his notes he goes over in class as well as material from the book, so attendance in class in pretty important! I would definitely take another class with him and would highly recommend him!

Took his class over the summer. Overall, pretty easy. Very clear on assignments, and not too strict of a grader. Study for the exams, though! He actually tests you on material covered in lectures and in the readings -- you know, like a real professor does.

The 1st wk he sent an email that he loves teaching this class. That's strange b/c he had absolutely 0 input into any discussions or assignments and minimal on the final. In a 100% online curriculum this is difficult;we have no choice on what professor to take. Feedback and guidance are very important!I expected so much more from this class! Bummer!
