At first i must say adair was quite intimidating. however, after going through his class i must say if you put forth the effort, you will reap the benefits. I am forever thankful for his teachings and his class as they have helped me develop into a better writer, and person. This class is not easy at all, but will surely test your will. A must take

Adair is a great professor if you don't fall asleep easily. The whole class is filled with him talking about the works we are reading which can be helpful but super boring. he is super sarcastic but he also understands that life gets in the way. he is a harsh grader that expects nothing less than perfection.

I couldn't wait to take his Short Story class as an elective and he hasn't disappointed me. It's clear that he's spent a lifetime working on the interpretations of the themes and symbolism of classic short stories, and he shares the wisdom of his years in this class. If you want an easy A, not the class for you, but if you want to learn, he's great

Mr. Adair made seem standoffish at first, but he one of the best professors I've ever had. He is willing to work with you if you are having problems. His grading is clear and he will explain to you why you got that grade and how you can improve your writing.

Tough grader for sure. As long as there is effort and notable improvement I don't think you should fail. Would definitely take again. Very clear in what he wants in your papers. Prepares you to write good essays. Hated him at first, but grew to like his style.

Mr. Adair can be taken as a little abrasive, but he is truly a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable. As long as you show him you want to do well in the class, he is very nice. Try your hardest and you'll find his class to be painless. Personally, I thought he was really funny. His humor is dry but not very subtle. One of my favorites profs.

Professor Adair has a tremendous grasp of both English Literature and writing ability in general. His mentally expansive classes are great at introducing you to various pieces from various authors. Take notes and ensure that your assertions are textually grounded; don't be afraid to include verbal garnishes either!

He does not put clear instructions on his worksheets and I can't read what he writes on the board no matter how close I sit. He will make fun of other students works and expect us to learn from them. He makes sarcastic remarks that will make the less outgoing of students not want to ask him for help.

He makes fun of student papers by putting them on the projector in front of other classes and critiques their essays. He thinks he's funny. He makes too many jokes about how old he is, we get it. I took my papers to two English professors -one of which had Adair while she went to CCC- to be proofread and I still never got good grades.

This is absolutely not an easy class. If you are not interested in learning, take an easier teacher. However, if you ARE one of the few students striving to improve, Mr. Adair is for you. You will absolutely improve your writing ten-fold, if you do not mind working for it.

Professor Adair is not a pushover by any means. However, his teaching is very informative and helpful; if his class is taken seriously, one is likely to improve immensely with regards to their English skills--that is, both writing and analysis.

Had Adair for 3 English classes & passed each one easily. He's very clear about his expectations and will teach you a LOT if you let him. He has an obvious passion for literature that's extremely helpful. I was a decent writer before his classes - now I'm at a 4yr school (Journalism major) and am constantly praised on my writing skills. Great man.

A lot of people have told me that he was not that good of a prof. Well, I beg to differ. He was a very commical and happy kind of person. I will admit that he was a tough grader however I found that his directions were very clear. If ur up for a challenge take him but if u choose for an easier prof, DO NOT take him.
