Dassoff was an amazing professor. One thing that I really came to admire about her was her genuineness and her understanding personality. She really was amazing. Lectures can be long/monotone, but exams are fairly easy, especially since they're off the lectures and she has plenty of review material on Blackboard. She's retiring this year though :(

Professor Dassoff is a knowledgeable woman. You can tell she has been in the psychology field for quite some time now and has lots of experience working with clients. She is clear and makes sure to allow everyone to participate. She wants everyone to understand the material. Always prepared and cares about her students. Definitely recommend her.

The class itself is pretty straightforward. Lectures can feel really long because she is basically reading off her power points, however she does do clicker points and you need all the points you can get. Tests are easy if you study the material and pay attention in class.

I really loved her. She used examples from her own experience and her lectures were clear. I went to her office hours if I didn't get something, and she was always helpful. Her tests were easy. All you have to do is study her lectures, go to class and it's an easy A.

Dr. Dassoff is an excellent professor. Her lectures are very clear and she also provides power points that you can print out. She provides exam reviews before each exam. She is always willing to help, and responds to emails right away. She is a wonderful professor and you will love this class if you take her. Best professor at UIC!

Dr. Dassoff is a great professor. If you are interested in psych you will like this class. The power points are really helpful and useful for the exams. the book isn't really needed and if you take some time to study the exams are not challenging. 2 papers to do but she gives you plenty of time to work on them. Best class for me this semester.

Totally take her, if you like writing long papers and go crazy over them, like having quizzes you never know will happen, and read multiple chapters to study for exam just to find out she will only test you on two things.

Was okay, but brought my gpa down as I ended up with a B. It's just a complicated class with her since she tends to be ambiguous and makes exams from whatever is in her head, regardless if she has taught it or not. The pop quizzes also kind of annoyed me. Don't recommend her if you are premed or something because a B in an easy class like this.

Not bad but I wish I would've taken another teacher. What annoyed me were the pop quizzes the other class didn't have. Exams are never predictable, one thing on the slide, she says another, hence you never know. She makes you work your mind but then again I'm not really doing graduate research, just a premed course so why not take an easy teacher.

Not a bad teacher but you have to put in the effort. Assigns random pop quizzes so you are always on your toes and have to study every night. Tests aren't multiple choice, and papers kind of long and desire effort and complicated writing since she grades them herself. Material tends to be a little trickier sometimes.

I loved interventions with her. She is very good at explaining and clarifying material. Grade is 3 tests, a paper, &participation. Tests are all written, no multiple choice or word banks so know examples and descriptions of the main ideas and youll do okay. if she says to read something, there will be a pop quiz (for EC points.) i recommend her!

Her exams and papers were pretty easy to take and write, as long as you studied everything we learned in class, but her style is a bit boring. I thought some of the videous were a tad outdated, but overall, it's a pretty simple class if you study the slides and go to every class.

study her notes and you'll be fine for the course. I like her method of the course, just wished I did well on the first exam. I still ended with an A but if I did well on the first exam, I wouldn't have had to take the final. Overall, she's a good teacher, I liked her examples and her exams were fair.

I had trouble with the first two exams so I went in to talk to her about how to study. She was extremely helpful and told me exactly what to expect on the Exam 3. Her multiple choice exams are based on the key words. Use her notes as guidelines while you are reading the text. She is a great professor and very approachable. Just go in for help :)

She was an amazing prof. Very interested in her students, and super approachable. I was a little hesitant taking the class, but tests are literally off the slides. The papers are a little hard though. I pulled off an A, but I dont understand why people say she is a bad proffesor. Talk to her, she is awesome. Also, come to class, she gives hints

Well, it really takes talent to make abnormal psychology boring. Considering this was an 8:00 am class, her monotone voice only contributed to me treading to come to class. It would be that much more engaging if she made it more lively. The exams, for one, are hard, and although you'll feel you did fine, you're grade will reflect otherwise.

Nancy definitely knows her stuff and the lectures are pretty long but she adds a lot rather than just reading off the slides. Exams are difficult - multiple choice is super specific and fill in the blank has no word box. I went to all lectures and took good notes but got C's on exams and the class averages are C's as well.

She's kind of difficult. The tests are multiple choice and VERY SPECIFIC fill in the blank (no word bank). She uses iclickers and there are 2 papers- one is 7-10 pages, the other is a bunch of definitions. Other notes: she speaks in a very monotone voice, no need for the textbook, she really knows her stuff, and she's pretty nice. I would take her.
