She is very hard to get a hold of and very bad at making accommodations to students who are unable to attend her office hour. Difficult to work with if you are a student athlete. Also unaccommodating if you work because she starts lecturing early or starts quizzes before class actually begins. She does not correct quizzes just hands back a grade.

She can't teach very well, and she's completely unaware of the fact (which makes things a billion times worse). She blames us for not doing well on her exams, but she should probably make the exams reasonable first. She for sure is trying to make us fail. She falsely accused me of cheating because I guess I looked up at the ceiling wrong. Big Bad F

No help at all. Can't stand lectures, makes topics more confusing than they actually are. You'd be better off teaching yourself. Good luck...

Dr. Lanigan is a fine person, but she is a horrible professor. She does not lecture slowly OR clearly, and she will not teach from an updated set of slides. She uses two templates for her exams, and she will use both. When it comes to homework, she prefers to use Sapling(v difficult to navigate at times), and her recitations are not helpful AT ALL!

Comment:
Dr. Lanigan has a difficult time lecturing. It is sometimes hard to understand what she is trying to say and has a terrible time explaining difficult topics. Quizzes are crucial for an A and the final was impossible. She is helpful during her office hours though, so I would recommend going.

Her weekly quizzes were hell on earth. I would study for them for HOURS and receive C's on each one. They were not fair representations of your knowledge and she talks way too fast and teaches as if you already have background information of the problem and for some that might be true but not all. If you have the choice not to take her DONT.

Professor Lanigan is horrible. When asked a question, she doesn't even answer it because she doesn't know how. She says lectures are mandatory in order to pass, but you only need them to fill in the powerpoint slides. You can easily not come to class and still do well. When she lectures it seems like she doesn't know what she is saying. Stay away!

Dr. Lanigan is a nice lady. She can be a bit confusing at times, and the lectures don't always help, but she will try to find other ways to explain things and that can help. There is a good amount of homework (online). The book is not necessary at all. Not a bad choice overall!

She is one of the worst professors on campus. Her writing on the board is illegible and it is so confusing. Her quizzes are hard and she makes lots of mistakes. She makes any simple topic more confusing and her lectures are boring. Would not take again, would not recommend, and would not look directly in her eyes.

She has a quiz every week and she doubles the points of them so they are worth a lot! If you do not do good on the quizzes you will not do good in the class. If you get like 3 wrong on the quiz that is already a 70% on the quiz. Do the online sapling homework to study and the extra problems she puts on blackboard.

I actually liked Dr. Lanigan. But she is just all over the place. Sometimes I just don't understand why she complicated things instead of giving such a simple explanation. I did well in class because I took chemistry in high school and found that the material was pretty basic. I did enjoy that her questions were straight from her lecture notes.

She's an okay prof. I honestly do not like her lectures. She makes the information confusing. I already knew everything from my AP chem class in high school, so i just used my notes from then to study for this class. Weekly quizzes. She's not great at answering questions, she usually just confuses people even more.

Worst teacher I've ever had. She's breezes over important details during lecture and posts optional practice problems without answers which is virtually useless because you don't know if you're doing them right. I've skipped lecture and solely studied from the textbook for 3 weeks. Since then, my quiz scores have gone up and I have an A-.

She seems to know what she's talking about but she has a terrible time explaining it. Her instructions are extremely confusing. She often put questions on the quizzes that didn't have the right answer so she had to recall at least one question per quiz for the first 4-5 quizzes of the first semester.

You need to go to class just to do Tophat questions basically. If you listen to her lectures, you'll most likely be more confused than before. During lecture, she tends to jump around from topic to topic without finishing one completely. If you get her, good luck!

Was not the biggest fan of her teaching style, but one you get passed that, it's really not that bad. Weekly quizzes but they honestly helped me understand and study the material earlier than i usually would've. Absolutely hated the POGIL activities. But just pay attention in lecture, review the notes, do the sapling, and you'll be fine.

Sweet baby jesus this prof is all over the place. Lecture slides are hard to understand, weekly online homework/quizzes, used online text zero times, and felt like it was possible for once to digress in my understanding in chem. Silver lining: if you can make it to her office hours, she's not that bad one on one and cleared up one or two things.

This class was a blur. Sometimes I showed up sometimes I didn't. Honestly, just do the sapling every time and glance over the notes and you should be fine. Didn't like her as a teacher, she was really emotional and sporadic.

Dr. Lanigan really is a nice prof, but her PowerPoint slides are very confusing and her teaching style is not the greatest. You can pass her class with an A, but you better be studying for her weekly quizzes everyday. The midterm and final were very easy and the final was greatly curved. Overall, it was pretty easy to get an A in her class.
