Dr Reed was a great professor! French linguistics can be difficult and she breaks it down really well. She is also willing to teach/answer questions in English if students aren't understanding in French. She had lots of extra credit and moved test dates when she realized students were struggling. The class itself was very interesting and engaging.

Mostly graded by exams, so don't blow them off. Dr. Reed is so sweet and will definitely help you if you struggle, but go to class and you'll be fine.

Enjoyable french class. Lisa takes time to explain new topics and ensure understanding. Tests are not hard and extra credit is given out. You need to be in class for graded homework.

Professor Reed is great! She makes linguistics easy to understand, and she's so much fun in class. She's very encouraging, and will do anything she can to help. There's lots of practice sentences and resources to help you out too. She speaks in French, but will almost always repeat herself in English. Take her!

Lisa is SUPER sweet! She is definitely a great professor who gives good lecture and also a VERY nice lady. However, she is a tough grader on tests (not on the paper lol) and the topic of her paper was VERY hard. Her review session is quite helpful and she is always willing to help. You have to commit yourself to this class for an A.

I LOVED having Lisa for this course, although I do feel bad for students who came in with little to no prior knowledge with the subject. In the end I think they did well, since Lisa was ALWAYS willing to stop and help explain things, but they definitely had a bit more of catching up to do.

She's very organized in class and will go over a concept several times if students aren't understanding. She has a review session before every exam and the exams aren't tricky. Very friendly, I liked her as a teacher.

Honestly, Lisa is really sweet but this class is really difficult. It's only two tests and two papers that are graded and thats it. The info is really complicated, and just.. it's hard. They should have prerequisites for this class but they don't so just beware

Seriously one of the best professors at PSU. She doesn't cease to make the coursework interesting and clear. There's no participation grade or busy work. She never checks homework. No mandatory attendance, but this is not the kind of class you can teach yourself at home. It's best to be there, especially for the exam reviews which are so helpful.

Lisa Reid is fantastic! She is always smiling, very funny (her laugh is awesome!). She's easily the nicest professor I've ever met - possible the nicest person period. Attendance is not technically mandatory, but if you want to understand Syntax, show up.

French Sytaxe isn't the greatest subject in the world and at times it can be very confusing unless you really understand it. But she is a great teacher...i love her. She is so nice and helpful. If you have a choice between her and someone else definitely take her!

Nice lady, fair grader. Class was a little boring, but it might be the nature of the subject (French linguistics).
