I like her witty personality but shes just a horrible professor in my opinion. she can be mean and kind of insults people not directly. Her exams are super tough and I studied day and night. I feel like she just doesnt care about helping her students learn, all she cares about is being tough. I wish they had more than 1 professor teaching thiscours

I love Dr. Sheridan. She's very caring and loves what she teaches. But yes, her exams are difficult. You have to really study the material and know the fine details! Lecture exams are harder than the lab exams. Lab is a lot of work but doable and interesting. She's very picky about how you answer questions so again, study a lot!

The first exam was horrible, and all the ones after that were pretty difficult. She's a tough grader but it will really improve your study habits, you just need to be ready for lots of work.

The first quiz was brutal, but necessary to change my study habits. And it worked! Take as many notes as you can during lecture. Her exams are tough, but her lab practicals are tougher. Read the chapter before going to lecture, it helps A LOT. Tough but great professor!

At first dr Sheridan was BRUTAL. I honestly thought I was going to fail and planned to retake the course. As the semester went on I realized I was actually learning all the material and I truly knew what I was taking about! She is tough, but you will leave this class 100% smarter than you were before. If your are ready to work youll do fine!

Honestly her class is the hardest class I think I've ever taken at RIC. The material isn't too hard to understand but she is a very tough grader. Her exam questions are made to trick you and make you second guess yourself. Just save your self the trouble and don't take this class.

It's sad to see all the negative reviews on Dr. Sheridan. Her exam questions come right from the slides and reading material so there isn't anything on the exam she didn't talk about. I didn't buy any of the textbooks she required and did well in the class. She is straight forward about what she expects and she is also pretty funny.

Terrible terrible terrible! I swear she is out to get us! Some quizzes are multiple answer multiple choice which sounds nice until you get negative credit! she is unwilling to work with you unless you meet with her, she expects everyone to know as much as her, lectures for an hour in lab, cares way to much about seeds. ruined biology for me

Dr. Sheridan has a very tough reputation, this reputation however is unfair. She can be a tough grader (if it's wrong, it's wrong) but there is EC. The class WAS NOT DIFFICULT. Dr. Sheridan herself is very nice and very amusing at times. (How to pass her class w/ an A: MEMORIZE her lecture slides. That's it). Still confused at the other ratings.

Tough class, exams super tricky (you need to OWN material) to answer questions. Lab exams are pure memorization. Doesnt give back exams. A lot of dead time between exams, but exams make up most of the grades. Lectures are good, but takes discipline to keep up. Need to cowboy up to pass (and graduate)

The material is very lengthy and requires a lot of work, but she really wants you to do well. You have to read the book and read the lecture slides. And the lab practicals test you on every small thing. Really need to memorize and be on top of your game.

She's nice but not clear when teaching and her tests are meant to trick students in her attempt to ween out those who "really" know. Overall, you'll probably learn and do fine just because you have to teach yourself from the textbook.

Absolutely one of the worst professors I have ever had. She makes nothing clear in class, and her quizzes are almost impossible, even if you study for hours. The lab manual we use is poorly worded and hard to understand. I got a B+ in the class but only due to an intense curve. Would give her an F as a teacher.

Tough class but such a nice lady! Always explains things in detail. Definitely have to study a lot and her exams are a lot of multiple choice like a,b,c,d, a and c, b and c, none of the above, etc. so it makes it tough but it's not difficult if you study her lectures. Book not necessary but helps

Dr. Sheridan is a very nice lady and certainly knows her material very well! Ecology was tough but that is to be expected for and upper level science course.I took simultaneously with genetics and it was not nearly as impossible as others have stated. Read the book once, study her power points a ton and make flash cards and you'll do just fine!

Beneath it all, she's a nice person. But, her class is a difficult mess. And since you're basically forced to take her, know that if you take this class with genetics, you're setting yourself up for the most stressful semester ever. Listen to everyone else on here. No, it will not be better for you.

Horrible, We didnt heed the warnings and we regretted it. At least me and my friends made it through that course. It sucked watching everyone else drop like flies in this course. The effort I put into this course was in no way worth it this class is absolutely HORRIBLE
