Classic professor. If you put in the work, you will succeed. All his homework is optional, but will impact how you do on exams. He's very smart and his exams are never surprises. He will always g over homework and do whatever it takes for you to understand.

Comment:

He is a great guy but is very monotone, however he knows his stuff. For Differential Equations we were only graded upon the three exams and a final, however if you do the homework (which isn't mandatory), you will get an A on every exam. His exam questions are very similar to the homework, so nothing is a surprise.

I had him for differential equations and he was easily the easiest math professor I have ever had. His class is solely based on 4 or 5 exams and a final exam, but all of the homework problems from the book he assigns (ungraded) are directly on the exams. Before every class he will do out problems you have trouble on from the book. Awesome guy.

Had him for calc 1 2 3 and differential equations. gives a lot of material, but really learned a lot. will do anything he can to help you succeed. awesome teacher!

Michael is not an "easy" Calculus 2 teacher. He comes off as a "difficult" man, but if you go to his office hours he would spend an entire night making sure you understand the material. He is probably the most challenge math teacher I've had, but also taught me the most. If you want to learn Calculus and not just "Get it over with" take it with him

He is a smart man, but a bad teacher. Homework is assigned every day, but is never collected. He spends entire classes going over the homework, and he is extremely boring. No personality; could teach to a wall. Never expect to get out of class early. Nice guy, but I would not recommend him.

I love his shoes. They predict the weather. If he is wearing his converse sneakers it is going to be nice. If he is wearing his leather kicks it is going to rain/snow. He has a jolly beer belly.
