Had him for bio and he was very scatter brained. Always changed due dates and exam questions were completely different than the study guides. I have heard he is better for ecology.

Great teacher wants you to succeed. Lectures are a little long but usually lets out early and tries to be engaging. Go to his study sessions when available. Overall great class!

Comment:

Love this professor. Very lecture heavy, with lots of graphs and tables to memorize (or at least be familiar with) for tests. Tests are spread out into 2 days(multiple choice and short answer) But super funny and caring, and genuinely wants you to succeed. For ecology class, very interactive lab days, and group project based on your lab project.

Super lecture heavy, but lectures matter on exams. Has pop quizzes sometimes so always be ready. Really cares about students to make sure they can do their best!

Had him for ecology. He only talks about what he wants to talk about. He is impossible to talk to outside of class. Answers your questions with more questions. Questions and tests are so vague you can't answer them appropriately.

He is super helpful and makes class interesting. Wish I could take more classes from him. (Don't email him to get feedback though as he is not good at emailing back). Take the lecture/powerpoint to class to help get better notes.

The field experiences were top notch, his ornithology lectures were done not in a classroom but out in the field were he showed his vast knowledge of birds in a fun and interesting way. Very accessible outside of class if you needed him for anything or just to ask a question about local birds you saw. Would recommend him highly!

Extremely intelligent professor with an enormous amount of information that will not bor you. The labs are awesome and are so much fun! Give great study guides and always tells you what's going to be on the test. I highly recommend this professor to anyone!!

I really enjoyed his class. He is passionate and funny. Sometimes his lectures are all over the place and there is a lot of self teaching. But, he offers a ton of extra credit and interacts with his students as equals. If you enjoy the subject and don't mind the random youtube videos then you will love his class.

I do not appreciate him giving two hour tests on days that we only have one hour to take it, while we have two lab days in which we have two hours. He is always talking about how we need to respect his time , but the respect should be mutual...

I had Dr. Sweets for every class he taught...and I really enjoyed him. He always has wonderful study guides...and really is a nice guy when you get to know him.
