Great teacher however the tests are fairly rough. After taking his class I appreciate opera and composers more than before. I would definetely recommend.

his tests are extremely hard. he doesn't offer much help and sometimes gets off subject. if you dont write exactly what he wants you to write on the essay portion of the test you will get it wrong. on the bright side i probably should have failed but he gave me a D. and he is a nice guy.

As a professor, he's not very good. Everyone says he cares about his students so much. He looks at the ground the whole time, doesn't e-mail you back and his tests are the hardest tests I've ever taken. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN MOZART, BACH, etc. There is also HARD listening tests. You never talk about anything but classical music!!

Comment:
He is a rarity, a true saint. I found him to always encourage my musical development. He was able to see me personal style and teach to that individuality with out leaving anyone in the class behind. Music was not as natural to me as to others, he saw my passion and used many methods to bring out that passion and not suppress it as a lot of Wesleyan professors did. A true teacher that will leave a positive mark on you, with his lessons lasting much longer after his classes.
