One of the greatest professors I've ever had. Amazing lectures; doable homework, tests, and compositions; and quality feedback all while teaching not only concepts of the language but also real social issues and cultural aspects and blockades in France and other francophone countries. You are truly missing out if you do not take a class with her!

Prof Scott is so knowledgeable, not only about the language but about the culture and social issues. Tests can be tedious but are fair and definitely doable. She is very adamant about practicing the grammar concepts in class (participation is part of the grade). She will know if you're not prepared, so do the homework and reading.

I really enjoyed Mme Scott's class. She makes you work for your compostion grades, but you have 8, so you can make up for a low one. There are also easy homework assignments to help you out. She's so energetic and always interesting. The class was really fun, but I learned a lot too. I definitely recommend 201W, or anything she teaches.

Virginia Scot was with Claude Pichois one of the pivotal instructors in my education. Because of her influence I have become a successful professor myself, work in an art gallery as an interpreter, and have led students on overseas trips, also due to Virginia's influence. She is remarquable and has changed many lives including my own.

French grammar is actually fun. Mme Scott keeps is clear and simple...and isn't above taking off on a random but highly entertaining tangent on anything from movies to the French origins of the word ****. Difficult grader, but not impossible.
