Professor Ran is a brilliant soul and is very kind. His lectures are nice to attend and necessary because he does solicit very helpful tips on what he'd like to see on the midterm and final. Make sure you utilize your outside sources (Professor Leonard on Youtube!!) if you find yourself unsure at times. Take the examinations seriously and have fun!

His way of teaching is a little difficult but once you understand what he's doing you will see that he's actually super smart. You have to put in a lot of effort to get a good grade but he is a very generous grader and there is quite the curve.

I took calculus c before and understood absolutely nothing. Taking Professor Ran's class changed all of that and I had a better grasp on the concepts than I ever could've. Keeping up with the homework really helps out and doing a lot of practice before exams also will contribute to success. Also look at his notes online. And pay attention in class.

Goes through proofs that are unnecessary for homework. Exams are fair, just doesn't corroborate to proofs, based on homework. Handwriting can be bad at times but does speak with an accent and doesn't mind rewriting the messy work if students ask for clarity.

Honestly, if you do the homeworks and go to discussion, you'll pass. This professor isn't helpful at all during lectures and you can barely read his handwriting. He just pretty much solves the problem on the board without explaining. He does curve his tests and his tests are somewhat similar to Webwork problems things the TA talked about.

This professor really gets a bad rap, but honestly if you do your homework and any problems he suggests, you'll ace any quiz or test. The material isn't bad at all, just be sure to keep up and not fall behind or you will have a very tough time. Also, he's a very lenient grader, who will curve exams if necessary.

I wanted to change my major to math so I took 10b. But dam, I screwed up big time the moment I enrolled in this class. I should've waited another quarter to take 10b with BETTER teachers. Already effed up my midterm. Final was 1 free response and 9 M.C. Definitely failed the final even more than the midterm. Praying that I pass.

He's not the easiest professor. Great guy; I've talked to him personally. He's beyond intelligent--he proves everything that he teaches with theorems and such. A ghost town every class. He does care about the student's. I somehow got an A- for getting a 40% on his mid-term and a 65% on his final. Really generous curve, but not an easy class.

very bad at teaching the class, most of the class has no idea what he is teaching 90% of the time while he rambles on and on about math theories that you dont need to know. going to discussion classes and office hours is a must to understand the material.

Pretty difficult class, midterm was fair; but the final was hard: 9 m .c and 1 free response and 40% of our grade. Did well on the midterm, terrible on the final. Was hoping his teaching would get better but it didn't . If you must take his, attend lecture with the book and it will make things much easier to understand. Praying that I pass.

This teacher was very difficult! Avoid this professor if you can. I took this class for a second time, and got a bad grade. I wish I had checked the ratemyprofessor for him before registering for his class. Terrible professor.

This guy seriously can't teach. Half of the the class got Fs on the midterm. i got the highest grade in the midterm which was a B. Doesn't curve. Got an A- because of my strong background in math. He is a really nice guy but he just can't teach. Get another professor if you can.

This guy is hard for 10 series. His research is algebraic geometry so he makes the entire class about geometry and very little is calc. His final was easy but for the first 9 weeks he was really difficult. Talks like kermit the frog 2.

Just spends time doing proofs which are hard to follow. It seems like he gets lost in his own world, forgetting to address the students. He does seem like a nice person, but he is just unclear during lectures.

I had this prof. at the University of Chicago in 1983-84. Pretty hard class, but so was every class there. He used to wear the same shirts to class M/W/F. His course did serve as a basic introduction to real analysis

Honestly, whoever complains about this professor is just freaking lazy. He does everything he can to bring up your grade, doesn't give out that much homework, midterm was very similar to the practice. Although during lectures, I have no idea what the hell he is talking about, this class isn't too bad overall. Just go to office hours!!!!
