One of the BEST professors I've ever had. I learned so much in this class. This was her last semester unfortunately. She engages the class in each discussion (tho some are quiet like myself), and by the end, you really come to understand Nonviolent Social Change. Kanavou is such a lively, caring, smart professor. I wish her well!!!

Kanavou is really spirited, but she was unclear on exactly what she wanted in assignments, which resulted in the majority of the class getting a lower grade on a couple of the assignments.

If you aren't a poli sci or peace studies major, DON'T take her classes. She assumes everyone is totally passionate and that her class is the number one priority. The worst problem is that she is awful at time management. Also she gives the most confusing instructions and assignments and just doesn't communicate well. Fairly easy to get an A though

Kanavou is amazing!!! Go to office hours and get to know her, it is well worth it. The class is writing intensive, but she will work with you to make sure you earn the grade you want. TAKE THIS CLASS. You will learn so much about Greek culture, and about yourself :)

Intro to Peace Studies was by far my favorite class this semester. It is a lot of work, but well worth it. Kanavou is one of the best professors at Chapman. She is so intelligent, hilarious, and interested in you doing well. go to office hours. and learn to love her!!

She is an amazing woman. This class involves a lot of writing, but really if you just apply yourself you'll do fine. Going to office hours is a must because getting to know her on a personal level will put you in a favorable light, but it will also motivate you to work harder because she is such an amazing woman if you just talk to her.

She is a very nice woman, and wants to get to know each one of her students. I highly encourage going to her office hours, even if it's just to talk, she will grow fond of you. This class is fairly hard, you have a few papers to write and the midterm and final need a lot of preparation. She doesn't teach towards her tests.

She ended up making me cry in her office hours because she told me I couldn't write. She corrected grammar/spelling issues that weren't even there. While she may make no sense at all, if you put in some effort, you will get a lot from her class. I learned more than I ever thought I could

She is an interesting lady. If your interested in Peace Studies, you'll find her hard to get used to. She is all over the place. No daily homework. One long paper, one midterm, one final-both blue books. You can take the class without the books but might be useful for those who can't stand her. Mandator attendance. Good luck, she is an aquired taste

She is very intelligent, but lacks social skills. It's so ironic that she is a peace studies teacher. She NEVER explains what is expected of you, no matter how hard you try to get it out of her. tests are blue book format.while the subject is interesting, I find her abrasive and very hard to know/like. The book makes waay more sense than her.

THE worst professor I have ever had. She pushes her personal views up on her students and has an attitude towards those who oppose her. She is very difficult to understand due to her thick accent, and does not return tests or papers in a timely manner. She does not express what she expects from her students, causing a terrible classroom experience!

Worst professor I've had a Chapman! I took Peace Studies 150 as an elective and hated every minute of it! She plays favorites and if you aren't one of her favorites all she does is pick on you. She is one of the most inconsiderate people ever!

She wants you to participate in class and be prepared. If you do those two things you will be fine. She expects intelligence and discussions, you can't sit in silence and get an A. The tests are essays and can be a lot of work, but she's very understanding and brilliant Great Professor if you want to learn.

She is one of the most inconsiderate professors I have ever had, very rude and hardly helpful. For all the time spent waiting at her office to see her, as well as actually talking to her, she treated me less like a human being than anyone I have ever met. For teaching a class on peace studies, her view of courtesy is surprising. Avoid if you can

I wanted to be a Peace Studies major before I took her class. Now, I dread attending her class. I try very hard on everything but I still can not do well. Note taking is impossible with the way she lectures and tests are not easy. She is brilliant herself but she expects even freshman to know as much about the world as she does.

Kanavou is sometimes hard to understand because of her accent. She loves it when you come to her office and you really have to participate in order to get a good grade. She seems to favor the guys as well. As far as politics goes it's a lot of dry reading and lectures, but what do you expect?
