Best professor ever. Loved his class with all of my heart. There are about 5 tests throughout the semester and if you review the slides and skim the book you will do good on them. Your grade is based off of 4 tests, a final, a term paper and a group presentation. Great feedback and great class. Wish I could take it again because of him.

Babst is amazing; he's so intelligent, kind, and funny! His lectures are really enjoyable, and he's an easy grader. Plus, if you stay after class to ask him questions, he's always happy to clarify things/talk to you about interesting news or issues. One of my favorite professors by far.

I took this professor for two political science classes. The only thing you have to be worried about is the presentation at the end and the paper. The test is really easy if you take good notes.

Dr. Babst is one of the top professors in Chapman's Political Science Department, and I would strongly recommend taking at least one class with him. Dr. Babst is very knowledgeable, an easy grader, and one of the sweetest and most caring professors at Chapman. For his FFC course, Free Speech and the University, he makes it quite simple and fun!

Such a great professor. The class is really simple and straight forward. His lectures are great. If you listen during class and read the chapters you will get an A. I learned a lot in his class without being overwhelmed with readings.

He is always there to help. Not a hard grader if you put in the work. I have taken a few classes with Babst and wish i could take more. Whatever class you take with him will be fun and you will learn a lot without felling like you are dying from all the work. Lectures a lot but he makes it fun with joke.

The only homework is to read about a chapter a week, but he doesn't force you to participate in discussions which is nice. It's mainly lecture and within the lecture he asks questions, but I never feel uncomfortable because there's no wrong answer. Half way through the semester and all we've had is two in class writing "quizzes" everyone did well

I loved Dr. Babst's class! He is one of the nicest professors I have had at Chapman, and I also enjoyed going to his office hours. He is a very fair (somewhat easy) grader, and is super nice in class during his lectures. Overall, the course was very easy and I would, without a doubt, take another one of his courses.

Dr. Babst is probably my favorite professor I've had at Chapman. His lectures are always well focused and relevant. All tests are essay based, and he gives a variety of questions to choose from to write about. He is definitely a fair grader, and tests are easy if you come to lecture and read the chapter! He is very knowledgeable, I 100% recommend.

He lectures for most of the class period and then allows for a discussion which can be interesting depending on if people speak up. Read the chapters that coordinate to the tests and you should be fine. He grades pretty fairly and as long as you know what you are talking about then you will do well.

Awful class. Rambles in his lectures and always lets class out early, wasting my education dollars. Also grades very subjectively, so you better hope he likes you. No feedback or reasoning on quizzes. There's a reason they only let him teach one class.

The actual class is really boring but I just did other homework during the class and it was fine. His tests are hit and miss and no matter how much or how little I studied I always got the same grade- seemed pretty arbitrary.

One of the best Political Science professors I've had the privilege of taking at Chapman. Extremely well-versed in every focus he teaches and incredibly thorough in his lectures. Great about presenting competing viewpoints and giving students the chance to express their own.

My favorite professor I have ever had. Very knowledgable well beyond the scope of what is expected from a professor. Very kind and tells you everything you need to know for the test (if you listen closely). Able to answer any question you can possibly have. Kind grader. Conveys information very well-even adds some jokes. Brilliant.

I really liked having professor babst. He's an awesome person who loves what he teaches. He is one of the best teachers I have had at chapman, and I do not like a lot of professors at this university. At this point, I've taken two classes with him and if you listen in class, you should be solid in my opinion.

He is a hard teacher. He uses powerpoints but his tests are mostly based off of what he says and what's in the book. He has a very monotone voice so he can be boring to listen to sometimes but the good thing is he usually lets you out early. He only has 3 tests and that makes up the majority of your grade and they're not that easy either.

Prof. Babst is very easy going, and he does a fantastic job at getting you to understand dense political theory. He structures his classes to leave room for a lot of discussion. Just make sure to speak up! Your class will get very boring very quickly if everyone just sits in silence when he asks questions.

One of the best professors I have ever had. If it wasn't for him I would have transferred even earlier. Incredibly intelligent, eager to teach you, unbiased questions and opinions. He shows you every side of the arguments and lets you choose what's right. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, learned as much during his office hours as I did in class. Must take.

Super nice professor. All you really need to study for the three tests and final are his power points, so don't bother buying the assigned books. He is pretty relaxed on attendance, but it would be in your best interest to show up because some of what he says in class is different from the power points, which is useful for the tests.
