I really liked this professor. She is from Germany which helps with pronunciation. Gives great feedback and really cares. During my semester she was teaching her way and I was learning a lot. Then a student complained and schoolcraft made her follow a schedule which made everything confusing. Wish they would have let her teach her way.

She really made class fun and exciting with a lot of active learning. She always had a great amount of energy which always made things easier. She is always willing to help no matter how much difficulty one is having. Rothstein is one of the best teachers I've had in my years of schooling as well as one of my favorite.

German was very interesting, the teachers approach was different. But the one good thing is the fact that the teacher is actually from Germany! If your not open minded than this isn't for you.

I had this teacher for german. She was a fair grader as long as you participated in class, did your work, and tried hard to do well. She was also hepful and easy to get a hold of outside of class. I liked this class and her personality and spunk made it fun and interesting. It was nice having a German teacher from Germany.

I failed HS German, but needed to take a language in college. Prof. Rothstein was my teacher for 1st & 2nd semester. She was inspiring, fun and knowledgable. I earned an A. I cont'd to take German at WSU under different Profs. I passed w/ A's. Great Teacher, great foundation for motivated student.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. I took German 101 from a different professor and loved it, but I hated this class! She was always late, answered her phone during class, and let us out a half hour early every day, even though we were behind. She expected you to know German fluently. She was a nice woman, but an AWFUL TEACHER!!

She was completely unprepared for class. Has no idea how to use the text and had obviously not looked at it. She relied heavily on a student in the class who was a native French speaker and was constantly being corrected - by the students. She asked us to be patient with her because after all "we are all learning here together". Don't even bother!

Puts no prior effort or care into the class leaving her distracted and completely unorganized and the class utterly lost. Hardly knows how to teach the material and is unclear on what is expected of the class. Does not teach the vocabulary and only confuses people with the grammar.

A little weird, but overall a nice person and a decent teacher. The pace is appropriate for a beginner class with no prior knowledge of the language. She does not offer a lot of help with the material. I did not learn as much as I had hoped to or anything that I could really use to have a real conversation in German.

She is an excellent instructor. She doesn't overwhelm the student. She is interested in the student learning the language and in order to master the language you have to learn the basics really well. If you don't master the basics you won't grasp the language. I've been out of high school 18 years. This class is perfectly paced.

WARNING: DROP THIS CLASS! She's always late and doing other things when she should be teaching. She thinks all beginners should speak perfect German right away and she was not helpful AT ALL. It's probably worth it to just wait until you transfer to take care of your foreign language credit.

Took class w/ the intention of taking German 2 later. She spent way too long on the intro& first chapter, & had to rush the more difficult things at the end. Nobody really knew what was going on. Since Scraft doesn't offer #2, I'll have to take #1 over again at Uni. level. She very unorganized.
