Comment:

Dr. Constand is very smart. The class covers a lot of information; it was hard for us students and the professor to keep up (we dropped the last 20% of the class material). He has the tendency to be disrespectful to students, and will not admit when he makes a mistake and instead says you are wrong. Tests are the only grade--use the study guides!!

This guy is a riot. His lectures tend to be directly from the notes he sends out, so you don't have to go to class really. He is very opinionated but does it in a way that isn't combative. His class is very relevant to current events and you're sure to do well on the exams if you memorize the review guides he sends out. Great guy all around.

Friendly guy with a (sometimes eyebrow-raising) sense of humor. He REALLY enjoys finance and wants his students (especially finance majors) to do well in this course. 3 tests, drops the lowest of the first two if your final (comprehensive) is higher. Go to class and read the chapters (they're actually very short).

Constand: Not a great professor. He tells distasteful political jokes, gets the wrong answers when doing math problems and needs correction from the class, says he "hates calculus and only teaches certain graduate classes because no one else will." He is also difficult to understand and repeatedly makes simple things harder than necessary. AVOID

Dr. Constand is an academic. To my knowledge and the rest of my class's knowledge, he's never had any experience actually practicing finance...he just teaches it. If you miss one class, he takes drops your final grade down one letter. His lectures are boring and useless. The only reason I took him is because he's the only teacher for this class.

Prepare to study..... Dr. Constand is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable about the financial markets and has strong theories on what will happen to the market in the future. I enjoyed hearing his thoughts on the current crisis. Great Professor but be prepared to study.

He's a pretty laxed teacher and willing to help you out, but he also makes you think. He comes off very aggressive in the beginning trying to "weed out" student, but just stay positive.the work will get easier as you go along b/c you get used to his standard which prepares you for your future.IF YOU QUOTE MAKE SURE YOU REFERENCE WHERE IT CAME FROM!

Dr. Constand is a great guy but his tests are ridiculously hard. I spent 3 hours working on a study guide and none of the info was covered on his test. Class ave is 65 and the final is cumulative and if you fail the final you can not pass. Your only hope is to get a copy of an old examen as he lets the students keep them and never changes them.

Took Dr. Constand for FIN 3403 and FIN 3244 in the 2nd term of summer '07. I absolutely loved his classes. Studying is mandatory. You will not do well at all if you don't study. Very biased towards finance majors and expects them to perform at top of class on all exams. If you thought he was unfair, then you probably shouldn't be a finance major.

Would love to have a beer with this guy. Had to drop him though. Class Avg. was 65 for first 2 exams. Needless to say, I was the 1st rat off that sinking ship while I still had a 4.0 GPA. Good teacher who does want to see students pass, but notes and tests are too confusing. Take him, you can't do any better with anyone else in FIN Dept @ UWF.

HORRIBLE TEACHER. Needs to either retire or go back to Hawaii. Tests on book, notes, and e-mail websites that he wants you to visit. Received about 14 e-mails a couple of days before test. Tests on materials not covered.
