Newing teaching strategy...to not teach(zero lecture). Group projects everyday. RATS weekly. His RATS, exams, and assignments are tough. Good luck...I recommend planning to take this course with Duffy on the opposite semester.

I like this professor very much. He is very glad to help you understannd the material rather than just finish the slides.His tests are little bit hard but really helpful if you want to be skillful in accounting.

Hardest course as an accounting major. You must attend his class if you want to pass the course. Tests are very hard but the curve really helps. He is a good instructor and knows a lot about accounting. He was always willing to help on homework and understanding the material. I am glad I took this course with him.

Doran is incredibly organized and very well prepared for class. He's available and willing to provide help, but he will not give any breaks for any reason. You only need a 50% to get a D in his class, but it is easier said then done.

Probably the hardest class an Acct major will take at ISU. This class takes an enormous amount of work and time. Doran isn't the best teacher either, he tends to rush through things and expect us to learn them. He does give tons of examples and handouts, and if you form a study group for homework and keep up on it it will really help.

Don't let the rating scare you. The class is a lot of work and he does fly through things, but ify ou do the homework you will do fine. Prepares you well for your future. It is a necssary evil, but I am glad to have had him.
