Comment:

The BEST professor I have ever taken at ECSU. Teaches you skills, like critical-thinking, that are invaluable to learing career. Does a good job of being able to defend and advocate for both sides of an argument; not biased. He is challenging, but in a way that makes you want to learn. His class helped me mature as a student. Enjoyed his sarcasm.

Comment:

Definitely the most difficult professor I've had at Eastern. Very tough grader, and there aren't many tests and papers, so there aren't many ways to get your grade up once you get a bad grade. Keeps the class interesting, but if I could go back in time I would not have chosen his class.

Comment:

Dr. Salka is definitely one of the best professors at Eastern. He's sarcastic and could make students feel uncomfortable in class but also makes it interesting and encourages class participation. Hard but definitely worth it. Take as many classes with him as you can and you'll have a better knowledge of Poli Sci when you're done!

Definitely the best polisci professor at Eastern. I've got him for research methods right now and he goes out of his way for anyone who is having trouble. Kids who don't like him generally either can't take a joke or just expect to vegetate for an hour and get an A. He'll definitely deflate your ego but you'll learn something.

Dr. Salka is by far the best teacher I've ever had. Those who say he's a jerk, that's juts his sarcastic sense of humor and that might not be for you. He takes the time to make sure you understand things and time flies in class. He does grade in preference of his opinion, but it's not that drastic.

This guy is a HUGE jerk. I know a good amount about politics, and because I didn't agree with him he hated me. We once had a political disagreement and he stopped me mid sentence and asked me " Oh wait, where did you get your degree from? Oh, you don't have one, that's what I thought." He knows the subject well but can be VERY unfair with grades.

Best professor I've had so far. class isnt manditory but its so hard to keep up with if you don't go. He keeps track of attendance and i think he takes off at the end of the sem. but his tests are really hard, just do the study guide. DEF go to him before exams, he sees that your working and gives you the right answers as long as he sees ur trying

great guy. tries to be intimidating but he really has a sensitive side hah, if you act interested and put in a lot of effort, he'll give you a decent grade. i hate poli sci but ended up with a B. VERY hard exams, definitely will need to study in this class.
