Comment:

Underclassmen seemed to struggle with her history class. Got perfect marks on every test. Just show up to lecture, take notes or understand powerpoints. Exams are cake. She has some great insights to share if you get the chance to talk to her. 40 question exams, sometimes an essay. Every now and then, two or three book questions slip into exams.

Comment:

Personally, I love history but even if you don't you will enjoy this class. Its more of an open discussion class but you still learn a lot. She's very understanding about missing class and you will never have any homework or quizzes. The tests are your only grade but as long as you listened to her lecture, you will pass. She was wonderful.

Mrs. Fissel is awesome. Yes, you are required to attend class and read the book, but if you do that, which you should do in all college classes, you will do great. Read the extra-credit books! they help so much at the final. Just pay attention in class and study. She is the best there is although the tests are pretty hard.

Comment:

Gives you hints on the test but they don't help and I did study all the notes. Tests are mostly fill in the blank its hard especially when a quarter of the questions are not from the notes and she is very picky about the short answers. If you want to make a B in the class you probably should read all three books. I read two of them and made a C.

She is a SUPER-AWESOME teacher that really enjoys teaching. Her sense of humor really keeps you interested, and her way of relating the history to the present makes it much easier to comprehend. Take down all the notes she writes and do the EXTRA CREDIT, its totally worth it PLUS can get all the essential info you need off cliffnotes.com. TAKE HER!

*Spring '06* Prof. Fissel loves to teach history and the class is easy. You only take 3 tests in the term and there is no midterm or final. Extra credit is given if you read books assigned to go along with the tests. Take notes and there should be no need to read the book.

She's very nice and very helpful. She knows what she's talking about and is rather passionate about her job. She's really down to earth and has a quirky sense of humor. Right down everything she says and study your notes, just about everything comes from the notes. Do the extra credit cause it will help A LOT!!!

Easy if you take the notes and read over them before the test. She's really easy to talk to and if you want an "A" just read the extra credit books. Only 3 test including the final. So don't fail any test. Easy teacher.

She made the class very interesting. She is very sweet. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS! She gives notes on the overhead, and she gives you a pretty thorough study guide. Just take notes, study, and you will be fine.

Professor Fissel is awesome! She's nice, very approachable, has lots of interesting stories, grades fairly, and gives a lot of extra credit. The course was fairly easy, but I still learned so much. She made some very confusing and dry topics easy to understand and interesting. I would definitely take her again and would recommend her to anyone.

The questions on the test are worded in a way that is tricky, but she emphasises this prior to the test. She states that she wants the class to make sure to READ the question. If you read them then it is pretty easy. She explains her notes really well. As long as you read th ematerial there should be no problem. I would recommend her class.

She is great teacher. Lots of notes. Goes kind of fast but stops when you ask. Lots of fun stories. Tests are a little hard. Come to class and pay attention and you will do fine. i reccomend her. she makes history interesting.

I felt like I did well in the class but my grade did not reflect it. Points did not seem to add up. Others complained of the same problem. Favors some students more than others. Very rude to students who chose to express their views that were different than hers. I am very interested in the Holocaust but feel like she ruined the class for me!!!!

She literally told me I was getting a B for the semester and put a C on the final grades...need I say more...I was like WTF. I would not recommend her!

She is a great teacher. She is very interesting and she has tons of stories to tell. We only had 3 tests this semester and she reviews for them the day before the test. The extra credit books were fun to read and they were interesting. She is very helpful and she will respond to emails. Take her!
