Carlisle was fine, however, I have had better professors in the chemistry department. If you miss class or don't want the videos he sends via email outside of class, you won't know what is happening. He's a respected member of the community and extremely kind. The class itself is difficult, not the professor! Take advantage of office hours.

unless you are interested in the sciences or like chemistry you will be fine. otherwise, if your like me and just taking it to fulfill the gen eds, you wont like it! tests are really hard,, 3 exams total, he does let you use a cheat sheet, front and back paper, but other than that its pretty straight forward. online quizzes are easy.

His class is tough, but if you put enough effort in it, you'll be able to pass. He's an excellent teacher if you are active in class, take notes, study, and come to class everyday. The tests are rough, but you get used to the format and they become easier. He's amazing and super supportive and encouraging. Would definitely take again!

I don't recommend him. He's by far a genius, but he can't teach. He expects way too much out of students and doesn't understand that not everyone in the class is a chemistry enthusiast. He told me "this class is designed to make you fail." Not the best way to go about teaching.
