Comment:
Paul assigns lots of reading but the discussions in class never line up. He randomly calls on people with long-winded questions that nobody understands. It always seems as though he is looking for specific answers, even though he asks for our opinions. Due to the fluid class structure, it is extremely difficult to know what to study for exams.

Good person, bad professor. Most of the class, except the bible studies majors had no idea what he was talking about throughout the entire semester. No one got his jokes.. The class is heavy on reading, but the reading (and Paul) used language way above everyone's heads. He wanted to know people's interpretations, but told us how his was better.

Paul is a really great person, but not such a great professor. He requires a lot of reading , but you can pass his class even if you don't do the reading. He has a habit of calling on students randomly, which can be embarrassing. Also, you will hear the same cheesy Biblical jokes at least three times before the end of the semester.

Paul is a wonderful man & kind soul, however his class is lame. I had him for both Old Testament and New Testament literature. These classes were purely historical and we had to buy his own book for the class. The entire thing is out of 100 points, projects only 8 pts. You have to do SO much for only 8 points, its crazy. Take from someone else

Very kind, willing-to-help professor. Students don't like that he randomly calls on people in class to answer questions.

Professor Anderson is amazing. His wealth of knowledge about what he's teaching is incredible. He genuinely loves his students which is often lacking at George Fox. His dad passed away in the middle of our class and he barely even took time off. He hardly thought of himself or what he was going through, just his students.

This class is basically Pacifism 101. If you don't agree with his views it will NOT be enjoyable for you. But he's really nice!

I took Biblical Basis for Peacemaking. It was awesome. I learned a ton of good stuff. My favorite book was Walter Wink's "Engaging the Powers." A couple of the other readings were more dry. Classroom discussions were very interesting and engaging. I wished I had taken all my Bible classes from Paul Anderson.

Had Paul for Bible old/new test lit. Amazing classes and Prof. One of the few classes I new what to expect. Read the bible, study his notes, go to study session b/4 exam, do two of three projects..All of which is enlightening. Highly possible "A" grade.

Very bright teacher who challenges his students. Not too difficult, but he'll keep you busy. Educated and helps to bring a refreshing/informative look on interpreting the Bible. All around good teacher.

Paul is a very, very smart scholar. However, for a gen ed class, he is too smart to be a teacher. The class wasn't very hard if you study a lot and take good notes you can pass. He gives weekly quizzes and his projects are not too hard.

Paul is one of the most intelligent people I have ever encountered. His classes are not easy, but they are so challenging that if you commit to doing it you cannot help but be rewarded with actual accomplishments & knowledge. A rarity. An intellectual.
