Doesn't take attendance but you don't want to skip- tests are all on the notes he writes on the board. will spend an entire class explaining one topic in detail. VERY sweet older guy, loves to create relationships with his students. participate and he's more lenient on your test answers (although you can not wing it). great guy overall!

Professor Fairchild explains topics clearly and develops concepts slowly. Attendance is mandatory since note-taking is required to do well on tests. Friendly, agreeable guy and I would recommend taking his class to anyone.

Dr. Fairchild is a great professor! All the notes for the class are drawn out for you on the board, and the exams are pretty straight forward if you follow along with the notes in class. There were weekly homework assignments and a large(r) (5-6 pages) research paper. He moves at a slow pace, but it's a fairly easy class!

Old guy, very slow pace repeats himself and goes over things a lot. Not a terribly tough class, but need to know your stuff. Cant just make up bs for the essay answers because he knows his stuff. Easy class in terms of effort put in. No attendance, 3 tests, 1 paper, a couple homework assignments. Take if you just want to get through the class

Fairchild is a really sweet and funny man. His classes are pretty easy and don't require much homework. You may not learn as much of the material with him as you would in other courses, but if you want the A, this class is the one to take.

Old guy, slow pace, but really knows his stuff. Despite his boring lectures, he can make learning more fun than plain textbook reading. Always willing to help and can be goofy sometimes. This is my second class with him. Great professor. Would recommend.

It's super easy. He goes slow and doesn't waste words. It can be kind of boring but the work load is extremely light and as long as you show up and take notes you will get an A.

Fairchild is a really nice guy, I've taken 2 classes with him and he's really an enjoyable teacher. Class is pretty easy and if you give some effort an A- should be attainable. My only reservation is I feel like you don't learn as much material with him. Take him if you want an A but if you really want to know your stuff, go with someone else.

Very nice guy; always willing to help. Go to class, his tests are based on his lectures. Only 4 tests and few assignments. The tests are not overly tough but you have no idea what he will ask. He knows his stuff but has a difficult time giving the big picture and tying everything together. His teaching style didn't match my learning style.

Very little homework and only about 3-4 tests. Attendecne isnt mandatory but you should go because all the tests are based off of his lectures. Strongly recommend him.

Fairchild is a very nice and knowledgeable guy. Class gets extremely long and usually consists of him drawing random arrow diagrams on the board or giving handouts which are hard to read. 4 tests and they're challenging- definitely not easy, but also not impossible. Not a bad choice if you have to take a theory class.

Awesome teacher, always willing to help in any way he can. At times, he was fairly unclear about somethings and the book made matters even worse. He doesn't really use the book, so ATTEND class and take VERY good notes. Almost everything on the test is from his notes.
