Deb is a lousy teacher, not a natural at all. I think she is a phoney. And is very defensive, no doubt covering up for a lot of insecurities (like she is not a designer). Avoid. She is also very two faced.

Not very good at teacching drawing. If you're not already good at it, you will wind up frustrated and hating drawing in general. It's of no use to complain however, because Deb is the kind of person who could make the rest of your pratt career a living hell. She often reminds us that she used to be the chair (hint hint: she has a lot of power.)

She was a chair person, but now teaches various classes for ID department. She is only nice to certain group of people who are benefit to her, or simply fit into her own taste. I took several of classes with her but she never cared about me although I maintained close to 4.0 GPA with excellent academic history. I wished her vision was wider...

Remember Deb is a human and is try to do a job. She is not good at the job but, she set it up so you need her for every little change you make to your class schedule. Most important is not to rely on her to make professional connections. There are very few sponsored projects. FYI that is what get you a job in design.
