No textbook. Instead, you read 10 novels over the course of the class and write critiques for each one based on 1 to 3 questions he gives you. Most novels are pretty short. The critiques make up your entire grade for the class. Prof is a nice guy, clearly passionate about what he teaches. Would love to take a class with him in person.

Get out the thesaurus and look up the synonyms for awesome professor. Some lectures are a one man play. Quite remarkable. His course on Shakespeare is tremendous

I'm pretty sure he can recite Canterbury Tales in its entirety without the book; if you're an English Major, you have to take this class anyway, so take it with him. Every lecture is from his memory, and it isn't just him spewing off randomly accessed thoughts, it's like his entire lecture is already mentally prepared and arranged before he enters.

He is incredible. Every time he read from a play I felt like I was seeing it performed in front of me. The amount of knowledge in his head is outstanding and my love of Shakespeare grew and my knowledge increased tenfold from his class.

SO SMART, everything he says sounds rehearsed it's so perfect. best speaker I've ever heard and a very easy going guy. only downfall to this class is you need to be really good at note taking, he doesn't give out any slides or anything its all based on your notes. its also kind of hard to tell if he's going off topic or if its important for quizzes

Best and most knowledgable professor I have ever had. He assigns lots of reading but it's an easy A if you put in the effort. I took Young Adult Literature with him last summer and loved it.

Quinn is amazing. He's passionate with what he does and is scary smart. His voice is super soothing; if he recorded audio books, I would listen to all of them. He knows his stuff, and he knows how to explain it in a way that's interesting and clear. He's also understanding with late work, but be prepared to read a play a week and answer questions.

I had Professor Quinn for Shakespeare 1 and he was amazing. He's so helpful with everything and is very entertaining. We had quizzes every week on the readings (very easy) and we would answer questions with a group of students based on the readings. Overall, class was easy and I actually ended up learning something from him.

Just had Young Adult Literature with him! Brilliant man; really knows his stuff! Doesn't post the powerpoints online due to copy write issues and puts a lot of powerpoint information on exams, but other than that, fantastic professor! Highly recommend!

Awesome professor. Soothing voice. Note taking is a little difficult but he goes over things at least 3 times. Especially the points that are important. Quizzes are every week but very easy to do so long as you pay attention. It's an easy grade with some effort. Lots of reading but it's mythology so don't take this course if you don't want to read.

Dr. Quinn knows his stuff (yes- he's brilliant)and his classes are interesting and informative. He offered a modified syllabus for the Winter Session course, gave us the material 2 weeks early and offered to accept it late with no impact to our grade. Classes are not easy, but he is fair and always willing to help. Take him if you can

Horrible online class. 10 day intersession and he gave out an unmodified full semester syllabus and said do it. No teaching involved. Class is do able if you have no life and do it 24/7 for 10 days.

This guy is absolutely brilliant!! The amount of stuff that comes out of his brain is incredible! A bunch of quizzes but as long as you pay attention in class, they are fairly easy, and they are short. One research paper & one presentation. Overall pretty low workload. Take him if you can!!!!!

Well, he certainly knows his stuff; very intellegent. My problem with the class was the lack of room for anything but ancient and archaic lit. He has no respect for literature dated later than 1700. I don't think I was hot enough to be in his presence.

I absolutely loved his mythology class! I've heard he is pretty difficult for his Renaissance class but Mythology was simple. He gives a lot of notes but he writes them up on the board and as long as you pay attention you'll be fine on his quizzes (which are relatively short and he lets you leave as soon as you're done). Great professor!

One of the best classes I have ever taken. Makes you work hard but you learn a lot! Makes the class interesting. Love his voice. Can't wait to take another class with him. Doesn't put up with nonsense and dumb excuses for late work. Make sure you're prepared for the class or you're screwed!
