Super approachable nice guy. Probably one of the smartest people I have ever encountered, knows everything about American history. Had him for envir lit so it was a HM so there was a lot of reading, but no more than any other literature class. He does a good job of making you look at things from all kinds of perspectives. I learned a lot.

Love Derek. Awesome prof- especially for fys. really engages you in class and makes you want to pay attention. Tough grader on papers, but I didn't even care because I learned so much. Really nice and fun- really cares and wants to get to know you. Take any of his classes for sure.

I absolutely enojyed Larson for a teacher. The class was very helpful and the stuff we covered in class in lecture was used on the test. Also completed interesting activities, nothing was useless. Be ready for some reading, but its a history class so expect it. One of my fav profs!

I LOVED HIS CLASS!! He is one of the best teachers i have had and that is why he is my adviser. There was not one time i was bored in his class it was the only class i wanted to go to. He is one of the reasons why i picked Environmental studies as mu major. Take his class if you get the chance. Super cool guy and very helpful.

Derick didn't just teach history, he applied it. In addition to the textbook, we read books, watched movies, and listened to music from the different time periods. The class was rather writing intensive, but if you're not afraid of that, take this class.
