She is the sweetest professor I have met so far. She truly cares about her students, and cares if you pass her class or not. She is extremely forgiving if you aren't the loudest public speaker out there, she's patient, and understands we all get nervous when giving speeches. I have no complaints what so ever, she is amazing.

I really enjoyed Donna's class. We do not have any tests, but rather weekly small essay responses from the case studies that we read. The majority of our grade depends on a group facilitation project. I really liked how she made the class a comfortable and intimate environment. We have fun, but serious discussions that keep it interesting :)

Great speech teacher! I was so nervous taking this class but now I'm more of a confident speaker! Definitely learned what I did well in speeches and what I needed to improve on. From the start she created a welcoming environment that made it easier to give my speeches. 3 speeches demonstration, informative,& persuasive. Easy if you just practice!

Ms. Stasio really wants all of her students to do well and prepares every student well for giving their speeches. I was very nervous with having to speak in front of the class but she created a very accepting and encouraging class environment. She is an understanding teacher and if you work to improve yourself as a speaker you will like get an A.

Donna Stasio is an amazing professor. The level of fear I had when taking this class was over 9000. I was always afraid of stuttering or saying "uhm" too much when presenting but Stasio makes you feel very comfortable. It is honestly a very fun class and probably the only class I enjoy going to.

Excellent professor. Her class is very fun! She does a lot of group work but you always are graded individually, so don't worry. Lot's of innovative and interactive activities in this class. The majority of your grade is based on a prepared debate that you give to the class with your partner. Extremely fair grader. Very accessible A! Recommended!!

She is a great teacher for public speaking. Very helpful and funny theres a total of three speeches. The whole class was very supportive. She is really simple and basic, gives good feedback. We also do an improv in class which is very entertaining. You'll really enjoy taking this class. Highly recommend it.

She is the best speech teacher ever. She is not intimidating and is always there to help. The class is composed of 3 speeches, some homework and impromptus. Great teacher to take for speech 1 especially if you get really nervous giving speeches because she makes you feel so comfortable.

I was so nervous to take a speech class, but Professor Stasio is so encouraging and helpful! This was probably my favorite class I have ever taken at De Anza. You are required to present 3 speeches and there are small homework assignments every couple of weeks! I HIGHLY recommend her!:)

I had Donna for the special SPCH 15 course which was designed around facilitating a teachers learning conference, and I have to say that it was the single class that I looked forward to going to all semester. She's pretty laid back as a teacher and really just uses the book as a guideline, but mostly you do all the work in class so show up.

She's pretty helpful. I was kinda scared at first since there's not many international student in the class. But it is not bad at all ! She always gives a smile to us, and that makes us feel a lot better :") You have 4 speeches for the entire quarter + impromptu speech (20 mins to prepare). Overall, she is a great teacher. So take her!

This class is taught by Donna and her husband Mike. Most useful class I've ever taken in my life. Your grade is heavily influenced on your groups case study. You work all quarter on a presentation about a certain case study, and its SO fun. You only need the texts so that you can use them for quotes. Incredibly fun class, highly recommended

This was my first speech class and it was very different from other classes I've taken. There are no tests. The teacher was pretty helpful. I thought the class was fun, but a little disorganized, but that could be maybe because there were 40 students in it.

I had her for spch 1 and 9 and she's very helpful. Not many tests in 9 and no tests in 1 and it's because she believes school is not about competition but bettering yourself, no tricks. Very good teacher u may not think she takes roll but she does in her head so show up. Best teacher i've had at de anza.
