She can be very rude and come off very disrespectful. Im not sure if its her culture and where she is from but she tends to speak at people very rudely. I would not take her class again. Be prepared to be put on blast for anything and everything you do. And she may talk about you in an not obvious way to the entire class

This is a great class right now because Francesca wants you to voice your position on political issues and you do t have to agree with her. In fact its hard to tell where she stands. She cares more about the process of debate and critical thinking than which side is correct. It was inspiring.

She's really awesome and hilarious, she wants her students to really voice out their opinions. There's 3 Exams, she gives you study guides a week prior to the exam, open notes exams, 3rd Exam( Final) is optional. One group project so chose your group wisely.

This course consisted of a few tests, one term paper, a group project, and some journals. Do your work, pay attention to the lectures, and most of all read the textbook and you will get an A. Study guides for the tests that have everything you need to know and also offers a good amount of extra credit. A very understanding and chill professor.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. I want to be her! She so clearly is a happy person and that makes going to class enjoyable. I wouldn't say the class was easy because she challenges you to know what is going on in the world, but if you follow directions there is no reason you should not get an A.

You literally do not need to worry about getting your summer body because you will be laughing all class that you will grow abs! She is hilarious! She is great at what she does and she is very very approachable. She can go on tangents but they always end up being hilarious at the end.

Francesca is the best professor I have ever had. She is smart and funny and loves what she does. She makes this big speech about free speech and how we should respect all opinions and it made me comfortable for the first time sharing my views. When she told me I made a good point and built on it, I felt empowered. I can't wait to take her again.

Francesca is amazing. Yes, she talks fast and can be blunt (she is British) but it's obvious she cares so much. She emails you right back and takes as much time as you need to help you. She is also funny and real. She talks TO you, not at you and treats you like an equal. She has inspired me to change my major and I can't wait to take her again.

This may just be me and some classmates, but her lectures weren't engaging and can be somewhat of a blur. She seemed to breeze through the lectures. We relied on the textbook to really take in the information. Tests, which are taken with notes, can be tricky, but if you fulfill the other grades (lab, hw, etc.), you'll make it with a higher grade.

Prof Bishop is clear and direct. She tells you exactly what she wants and is an excellent lecturer/teacher. If you show up to class and put in the effort you will breeze by no problems. Skip too much, worse, if you skip on your debate days you will most likely fail. :/

Great Professor, very knowledgeable in her area. I loved her class and her family stories that tells you to make a point with the topic that we were studying. 4 exams but drops the lowest, group project, and a research term paper. She is great.

Francesca Bishop is genuinely a good person and instructo. The scope of her lectures cover the textbook well and the real-world examples she uses connects with the material. Her interpersonal class was an eye-opener for my self-improvement and I feel that I grew as a person. Her communication style is masculine and can come off as strong to some.

Professor Bishop is an entertaining teacher. She had a new discussion each class and wanted opinions. You see many documentaries/videos on the chapter lecture, yet all the lectures are online for you. She is open minded and tells you all assignments needed in the beginning of the semester, so no surprises.

Great teacher with great lectures bc she talks about real world issues such as race, relationships, etc. she gives extra credit that's easy. The essays can be a challenge if you don't study but overall they are pretty easy. The only bad thing was the group project. a student from our group did bad in the presentation and our grade suffered bc of it

I hate public speaking, which is why I put off taking COMS1. However, I learned so much from Francesca that I took argumentation with her before finally joining El Co's Speech and Debate team (the top ranked CC team in the US, btw). She's an engaging lecturer, passionate educator, and dedicated mentor who has changed so many lives. Take her class!

Amazing teacher. Makes sure you have a clear understanding of each assignment. With her there is no such thing a stupid answer. By the end of the course you will not only love her but your far of public speaking will go away and your critical thinking still will be a lot better than they were. This course make you more aware of todays issues.
