He is a very good professor. His lectures are interesting and fun. He gets goofy sometimes, but that was a good thing for me. The worst part about this class are readings for almost every class and there's always a 10+ question multiple choice quiz (those are a big part of your final grade) and "A" is 92+ and above. Tests are multiple choice.

I don't think you could ask for a better LA class professor. He is very interesting, tells you stories, and can be goofy sometimes. I loved that. All you do is show up and do the final presentation (it takes 10-15 mins) and you get a B. He makes you write 5 little journals (10-12% of grade) so if you want an A, do those and do well on easy quizzes

Easy and interesting class. He wrote the textbook and the readings are very short and easy reads. As long as you keep up with readings and show up for quizzes and tests it's an easy class!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed this class so much that we chose Dr. Hoover to perform our wedding, almost 15 years ago. (We're still married.) A fine professor, a critical thinker, a flexible teacher, & over all swell guy. I still periodically re-read the work I prepared for this course, and am proud of what he inspired me to produce. Take him.

Dr. Hoover is absolutely one of my favorite professors ever. He is the reason I became a Sociology major. He makes difficult concepts seem like just common sense. And, I would totally let him be my Mr. Robinson.
