Helen spent two semesters as my mentor in fiction writing. She inspired me. I learned more from her than all the rest combined. She was totally dedicated, made me believe in myself. With her help I continued a lifelong love of writing and mythology. The rating I give her is a 10 - The best and most inspiring professor of all in my academic career.

Helen is one of the most wonderful professors I have ever had the pleasure of having. She is just so fascinated by her subject that she is able to make it... tolerable for you. It's kind of a rather dry subject if you can't get into it, but if any one could get you into it, that person would be Helen. Take her class and love her SLIDES!

Helen is a great lecturer. She knows her stuff front to back. Lots of reading, but that is to be expected. I waited until she issued the prompts to do my reading to save time and got an A in the class. Has an annoying tendency to interrupt students who are presenting. Overall a good teacher.

Professor Dunn is an excellent English teacher that will work to make sure all students understand her lectures. The topic, Early British Literature, can be a bit dry and boring at times, but Dunn tries as best she can to make it as interesting as possible. Will work with ALL students to achieve highest grade possible, no matter what! She's great!

I had her for Classical Literature/Mythology. I dropped out of the class after the 2nd week, but not because the class was hard. I loved her lectures (she's so funny.) She's very clear and understands what she's talking about. Not a lot of homework, just a lot of reading, and if you're interested in this subject, it should be very easy.

I had this lady for so many classes and she always mispronounced my name. Totally skatty and disheveled. Sweet at the core but I couldn't deal with the unorganized nature of class.

She's very passionate about what she teaches. She's very easy to talk to, you do have to show up to class; otherwise when you do your papers you won't know what to do. But overall, great professor!

Helen Dunn was THE BEST TEACHER I had. She is so interesting, and brings a lot more to the lecture than just lit. She includes art and movies.. I learned so much in that class without trying. She gives you the option of a journal or a paper-- EVERYONE should have a class with her. she rocks.

I took classical lit and medieval lit from this professor and she was one of the finest teachers I had at Sonoma State. Challenging, witty, brought out the best in me as a writer. Great fun. I do not consider "Very Hard" to be the worst.

4-6 pages of journal writing a week--kind of tedious. Is very enhusiastic about the readings, but my class is not very inspired to have good conversations. Atmosphere is often cold and uneasy.

this class is liberal, we can talk about "masturbating," "faking orgasms" etc. but lectures/learning doesn't exist. no need to go to class if you keep up on the readings. the essay midterm is graded very easily. for 3hrs we talk about
