Scott is an extremely nice guy, but he definitely has favorites and will put things on the test that we didn't formally look into (just something briefly mentioned during class). It is a hard course and unless you write things exactly how he would like, your grades will not be the best.

He's nice. But I don't believe that he should be teaching this class. (Yes, I am aware of his degree.)

One of the most helpful, unpretentious professors I've had a SSU. Really good at breaking down some extremely dense, dry material. Just make sure you do the reading my midterm time, go and participate, and start the final paper in advance and you'll be fine. Highly recommended, especially to English majors.

Seriously the best teacher I have ever taken. Looked forward to going to class everyday. Probably will cite info I learned in class for rest of my undergrad, already used it to write another final this semester

Professor Miller is great! The class starts out pretty slow and the reading is somewhat hard to understand but Professor Miller makes it understandable. All of what you learn in the beginning of the class is applied to the fun reading that happens later on. It all makes sense and makes you think! It's all about TASTE! Awesome class!

Scott Miller is amazing. He is so intellectual, but not pretentious. He's so knowledgeable, and will honestly teach you the world. He is a fair grader, and always lets you re-write your essays. He has made me consider being an English professor-just to take more classes from him.

Scott Miller's the hardest working man in pro-business. Always attentive to students' needs, conscientious, encyclopedic knowledge without the pretension. If you have beef with the dude, get out of the kitchen, cuz you're spoiling the stew.

I don't mind saying it -- Scott Miller changed my life. He's a superb mentor and a very skilled teacher, very friendly and supportive. He's also perhaps the hardest grader I've ever met. The A- in his class was the first grade below an A I'd had in years, but I learned a LOT in his class. I'm very glad to have had him as a professor.

Granted, because he runs the writing center, he is tough on grading papers. He's also very fair because he will let you rewrite. I did get an A in his class after getting C papers, so don't fret. The classes are not intimidating but Scott knows his material. There's little homework, the quiz was hard, but I'd take a class with him in a heartbeat

Scott is wonderful to talk with. I love his teaching style and his exams are very reasonable. The way he grades papers is another story. I've earned A's from Robert Coleman-Senghor, Helen Dunn and even Thaine Stearns. Scott gives me C's on my papers. He gives other A students C's and low B's. He'd be wonderful as a tutor. As a teacher he's HARSH.

Scott is a great teacher! He is EXTREMELY clear from the beginning of the class, and very interested in each student. He'll give you tons of help if you need it. I loved this class, even though we were reading Lord of the Rings, which I'm not really into. One big term paper, lots of small ones.

He's a cool guy, I liked him as a teacher. You have to get the work done, I mean it is an english class but none of it is really hard if you try. He'll really help you out if you just ask for it.
